Port Arthur

• In the 18th and 19th Centuries, criminals were sent to Port Arthur, for punishment.
• they were forced to undertake a range of hard labor activities within the jail.
• many died during their incarceration and were burried on the Isle of the dead.
• they felled, transported and milled the timbers that they would use to extend the jail.
• some were trained and given trades, but most just worked hard and long hours.
• many of the buildings have survived two fires and are said to be haunted.
•  this is one of the most historic tourist destinations in Australia and there are ghost tours hold regularly.

Severe trigger warning. Rape torture and graphic horror.

Junko Furuta was a 16 year old Japanese high school student who was abducted, severely tortured, repeatedly raped, and murdered in the late 1980s. Her murder case was named "Concrete-encased high school girl murder case" ,
due to her body being discovered in a concrete drum.
The abuse was mainly perpetrated by four teenage boys, Hiroshi Miyano, Jō Ogura, Shinji Minato, and Yasushi Watanabe.
Who only served short sentences because they were 18 years old or younger at the time of the horrific crime.  Up to 100 people knew of her whereabouts and the torture that she suffered, Including one of the youths parents.
This is a horrific tale that shows what a group of humans can do together, When they have no morality or conscience.

• Dec 18, 1948   an American serial killer, serial rapist, cannibal, and necrophile who murdered ten people.
• Killed his paternal grandparents and mother. 
• He is noted for his large size, at 6 feet 9 inches ( and  his IQ of 145. 
• Nicknamed the Co-ed Killer, as most of his victims were female college students.
• His parents divorced; as a child, he moved to Montana with his abusive mother before returning to California, where he murdered his paternal grandparents when he was 15. 
• He was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic by court psychiatrists and sentenced to the State Hospital as a criminally insane juvenile.
• Released at the age of 21 after convincing psychiatrists he was rehabilitated,
•  Kemper was regarded as non-threatening by his future victims. 
• He targeted  female hitchhikers, taking them into his vehicle and driving them to secluded areas, Killing them before taking their corpses back to his home to be decapitated, dismembered, and violated. 
• Kemper then murdered his mother and one of her friends before turning himself in to the authorities.
• Found sane and guilty at trial in 1973,  he received eight concurrent life sentences. Since then, he has been incarcerated in the California Medical Facility.

•  They met in 2010   they were married 2 years later
•  Shanann gave birth to Bella Marie Watts (born 17 Dec 2013
•   second daughter Celeste Cathryn or "CeCe" Watts (born 17 July 2015). 
•    In June of 2015 the couple filed for bankruptcy
•   Watts was working as an operator for   Anadarko Petroleum, while Shanann worked from home selling a product called Thrive, 
•    Shanann was 15 weeks pregnant with a son named Nico Lee. 
•  June 2018: Watts starts talking to Nichol Kessinger
•  Chris wraps Shan’ann in a blanket and carries her to his truck.
•   He puts the kids in the backseat  Kessinger works at Anadarko Petroleum
•   he came by her office and struck up a conversation.. 
•   They meet outside of work later that month. 
•   By July 2018: their relationship becomes sexual, seeing her about four or five times a week 
•    August 9,: Shan’ann leaves on business to Arizona
•   Aug 11  Watts hires a babysitter and goes out with Kessinger
•   Shanann returned home. At 1:48a.m. on August 13, 
•    Also on August 13,: Watts kills Shan’ann and their daughters      
•   He then smothers Celeste in a blanket. 
•    He then does the same with Bella in another tank.
•  Chris also buries his wife’s body in the ground nearby
•   Shan'ann is reported missing at around 1:40 p.m. by Nickole Atkinson.
• Shan’ann’s phone, keys and purse are found at the house
•   Her car, was in the garage.
• Shanann's wedding ring was found on her and Christopher's bed. 
•  he told investigators about the affair & admitted to strangling Shanann to death.
•  Watts tried to falsely blame Shanann for her daughters' murders claiming that he had seen her killing them on the baby monitor in their bedroom & he attacked her in a blind rage. 
•  Chris  pleaded for their return: 
•  Chris fails a polygraph test 
•   August 16, The three murdered bodies are recovered at Chris’ worksite.

• Armin Meiwes was born 1 December 1961 in Germany.
• He is a  former computer repair technician who achieved international notoriety for killing and eating a voluntary victim Bernd Brandes  in 2001, who he had found via the Internet. After Meiwes and the victim  attempted to eat the victim's severed penis, Meiwes killed his victim and then began  to eat a 20 kilograms of his flesh. 
• He was arrested in December 2002. 
• In January 2004, Meiwes was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to eight years and six months in prison. 
• In a retrial in May 2006, he was convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. Because of his acts, Meiwes is also known as the Rotenburg Cannibal or Der Metzgermeister

Wheres William Tyrrell???

• William Tyrrell aged 3 disappears from Kendall, whilst visiting his foster. grandmother's house with his foster parents and biological sister.
• William was dressed in his favourite spider man suite.
• He was playing outside with his sister.
• He was playing Daddy Tiger, roaring and having fun.
• Williams' foster Dad was on a work call in another town.
• A massive search ensued, with police, Services and the full community.
• There were many persons of interest investigated.
• There was an active peadophile ring operating in the area.
• Dogs were called in to find Williams scent, unsuccessfully and kadava dogs were also brought in.
• Bill Spedding was closely investigated, and is suing NSW police for 1M in damages as he feels he was persecuted during the investigation.
• Paul Savage was also investigated and Police filmed and taped his actions and conversations.
• Tony Jones, lied to police about his alibi and his ex wife and son exposed him to authorities.
• Ray Porter confessed to driving Frank Abbott and William 300 Kms North
• 78 year old Frank Abbott is a person of interest.
• There is mention of William being murdered, placed in a suitcase and buried. 
• Inquest into Williams disappearance, reveals many new leads and lots of new information.
• More persons of interest are mentioned.
• Lots of sightings of William are reported, but none are actual sightings.
• A 1M reward for the return of William.
• Garry Jubelin, head Detective on the case charged with wrongfully taping a person of interest, resigns from the force after 30 years service.

She was born around 1620 in Palermo and was possibly the daughter of Thofania d'Adamo, who was executed in Palermo on 12 July 1633, accused of having murdered her husband Francis. Tofana was described as beautiful, and she spent a lot of time with apothecaries, was present when they made their potions, and eventually developed her own poison, Aqua Tofana. It is, however, also possible that it was her mother, Thofania d'Adamo, who made the poison and passed the recipe on to her daughter. She began to sell this poison to women who wanted to escape abusive husbands. Her daughter, Girolama Spera, was also active in this. She eventually moved her business to Naples and Rome.

Giulia was sympathetic to the low status of women and most often sold her poison to women trapped in unhealthy and dangerous marriages. She became known as a friend to the troubled wife and received many referrals.

her business was finally revealed to the Papal cops by a customer. She escaped to a church, where she was granted sanctuary. When a rapid rumour, claiming that she had poisoned the water, tore through Rome, the police forced their way into the church and dragged Tofana in for questioning.

Under torture, she confessed to murdering 600 men with her poisons in Rome alone between 1633 and 1651, but this cannot be confirmed owing to the torture and the widespread distribution of the poison. She was ultimately executed in Rome, together with her daughter (Girolama Spera, known as "Astrologa della Lungara") and three helpers, in July 1659. After her death, her body was thrown over the wall of the church that had provided her with sanctuary. Some of the users and purveyors were also arrested and executed, while other accomplices were encased in  the dungeons of the Palazzo Pucci.

 February  1988, Edwards attacks an 18-year-old woman asleep in her Huntingdale home while wearing a woman's nightie then flees after a struggle, leaving behind a stolen, semen-stained silk kimono.
May 1990  Edwards attacks a Hollywood Hospital social worker from behind, covering her mouth and dragging her towards toilets, but she breaks free. He earns a conviction and is ordered to complete a sex offender program.
 February  1995, Edwards abducts a 17-year-old girl from a dark Claremont park, binding and gagging her, and pulling a hood over her head, then drags her through Karrakatta Cemetery where he rapes her twice.
January 1996, Sarah Spiers, 18, disappears after leaving Club Bay View in Claremont and calling a taxi from a nearby phone booth. Her body has not been found.
June 1996: Jane Rimmer, 23, is last seen outside Claremont's Continental Hotel.
August 1996: Her body is found in bushland at Wellard 
March 1997: Ciara Glennon, 27, is last seen in Claremont after visiting the Continental Hotel.
April 1997: Her body is found in bushland at Eglinton in Perth's north.
November 2016, The stained kimono is finally tested, with DNA matching swabs taken from the Karrakatta victim and cellular material found under Ms Glennon's fingernails.
December 2016: Detectives test a Sprite bottle.
December 2016: Police raid Edwards' Kewdale home. He is interviewed over 14 hours then charged with murdering Ms Rimmer and Ms Glennon, and the Karrakatta and Huntingdale crimes.
February 2018: Edwards is charged with murdering Ms Spiers.
October 2019: Edwards pleads guilty to the Karrakatta and Huntingdale crimes, but maintains he did not commit the murders. 
September 2020: Justice Hall finds Edwards guilty of murdering Ms Rimmer and Ms Glennon, but not guilty of murdering Ms Spiers.
December 23, 2020: Edwards sentenced to life imprisonment with a non-parole period of 40 years, the longest minimum term ever imposed in WA.

• The Ararat lunatic asylum opened in 1867, 205 Kms away from Melbourne.
• It was used to relieve the prison system of those that were thought to be the most criminally insane and irreparably evil. 
• it housed 1000 patients and 500 staff and had about 100 deaths a year.
• Today the building is used for ghost tours, visitors report unexpected fainting, feelings of nausea and pains, ominous smells and “methodical banging sounds” like patients hitting their head against walls.
• some visitors have reported feelings of being “shoved and bitten,” and have heard sounds of shrieking voices, ticking clocks, and have also had electric interference with cameras and other electrical equipment. 
• The asylum has 60 buildings and out of these, the ‘J Ward’ was known for housing Ararat’s most infamous patients, 
• one of the most prominent being Bill Wallace.In 1926.
• Bill Wallace was suspected of murdering a man in a café in Melbourne for smoking a cigarette.
• Wallace  refused to answer any questions or talk about the crime.
•  there were no witnesses and he did not admit to the crime, Wallace was found unfit to plead and was declared insane by 2 Doctors.
