TW: there is a brief mention of suicide.
Join Mak & Jubes this week as they discuss The Inflamed Mind by Edward Bullmore for the sixth installment of their book club episodes. This is our favourite book so far and we really get into it so this episode is a bit on the long side. If you're interested to learn about what effects inflammation has on your body, you will really enjoy this episode.
Note: Herpes actually came from Paranthropus boisei either having sexual contact with Homo habilis or from scavenging chimpanzee remains. Not from Neanderthals or Homo erectus having sexual contact with Chimpanzees.

Join Mak & Jubes this week as they discuss the power of words. Mak has little to no voice this week which is ironic considering our topic. Mak & Jubes also haven't seen each other in 3 weeks so we have a great catchup to start. We go into some studies done by Masaru Emoto that were focused on scientifically proving that words have power. We then talk a bit more about what we think about words having power and the best ways for someone to optimize their life through their words as well as the effects of placebo vs nocebo on people. This is a very interesting conversation that is almost a continuation from our past couple episodes.

Join Mak & Jubes this week as they discuss the concepts of Yin and Yang. They also talk a little bit about Feng Shui and the 5 elements. This is a very fun episode that focuses on the importance of balance and what you can do when you are out of balance. We think this is a really neat concept and are excited to start applying it our everyday lives. To end the episode we play a fun trivia game where we expose ourselves a little but mostly prove how insanely smart we are (lol). Hopefully you find this episode as interesting as we do!

Join Mak & Jubes this week as they discuss seasonal cleanses. First they have to catch up because they haven't been able to get together for like a week and a half. So lucky you guys to listen to our life updates! We then start to discuss the many ways you can seasonally cleanse, what a seasonal cleanse looks like, and any tips or tricks we may have to help you guys with that. If you want us to share the information that Mak pulls from her nutrition bible please reach out to us! We are not ones to gatekeep nutritional information. This is a very information heavy episode but don't worry, there isn't a test after. We do get sidetracked near the end with this month's book club book so stay until then for a sneak peek of what to expect. And to kind of decompress we go through some fun facts that we found and wanted to share with you guys!

Did you guys know that knitting can lower blood pressure as much as yoga?? Neither did we!
Join Mak & Jubes this week as they discuss The Wintering by Katherine May for the fifth book club episode. We start this episode of as chaotic as you can cause we're feeling good. We then rein it in to give a very in depth conversation about this book. This is also the first episode that we've released where our book club page on our website is live, so if you want to read the synopsis and our opinions on each of the books you can check that out. We also have the next books up so you can get a head start on them too! There are also some easter eggs in this episode about our next couple episode topics so let us know if you find them...
And then to end the episode we don't have a fun segment but we do have a good conversation about our differences in opinions on this book.

Join Mak and Jubes this week as they discuss their quarterly check-in. Naturally, they start off the episode talking about the Perfect Match again (we promise it's the last time this month). We then get into discussing what the goals were that we set for the new year. Jubes goes off on a tangent on her recent snowboarding escapades, which is a common topic for this episode as it turns out. Mak then shares how she is doing with her goals and who much school she's completed over the last couple weeks (woo-hoo!!). This episode is basically one giant life update where we share what we've been working on and what we've been up to in our personal lives. Mak also shares some tips and tricks for staying on track with the goals and habits that you've set for yourself. We also announce that we have an affiliate link (which is extremely exciting for us!!) and we're working on getting a discount code for you guys as well!

Join Mak and Jubes this week for a very philosophical discussion around Coincidence vs. Everything Happens For A Reason. We bounce around to so many topics including the Big Bang theory vs creationism, mid-life crisis', time travel, and the invention of the calendar. We discuss our personal beliefs surrounding coincidences as well as our personal experiences with it. Even though this episode is all over the place it's still super fun (in our opinion at least). For the segment this week we decided to do some Hot Takes, cause this episode wasn't controversial enough for us!!

Join Mak & Jubes this week as they discuss nervous system regulation. Jubes tells us all about the science behind the nervous system and what it is comprised of, we both share what nervous system consists of and then Mak educates us on the nutritional and hormonal impacts on nervous system regulation. This episode works closely with our self-love and SAD episodes as a lot of the same topics are covered and referenced. This is one good episode for us anxious girlies! To end the episode we answer the questions you guys asked us on our Instagram poll.

Join Mak & Jubes this week as they discuss Angel Numbers. Mak did a deep dive into this topic and we are excited about it! Turns out the topic of angel numbers has more to it than just silly little numbers. We talk about Pythagorus, Grand Central Station, Subway, the Manitoba Legislative building, the Bible, dream interpretation, & numerology. It's kind of wild to see how these things all relate back to angel numbers, which we both kind of thought were silly white girl things. We really enjoyed learning about all of this and we hope you enjoy it as well!! To end the episode we play a fun game of this or that where you get to learn more about what we enjoy in life and how different we are (despite the psych tests saying otherwise).

Join Mak & Jubes this week as they discuss self love. We discuss what self love looks like, what it can feel like, why it is hard, and tips to help you love yourself. We share many important tidbits for learning to love yourself, a practice we are also learning. To end this episode we play a fun game of smash or pass with self care ideas. Let us know if you would smash or pass...
