Since neither Jubes nor Mak identify as a man, they invited Jubes' brother Graylin on to tell us a little bit about his experiences with mental health and what he does to cope. Graylin is very open about his struggles, what he has gone through, and he drops some wisdom nuggets on us, even though he does take us on a quick Crocodile intermission. Join Mak & Jubes this week as they talk about Love Languages. We've decided that once a month we are going to read a book and then do an episode on it and this month it is "Love Languages" by Dr. Gary Chapman. We go through pretty much each chapter of this book and discuss how we felt about certain things, which love languages we relate to the most, and which we strongly dislike. There is very much a deja vu moment to episode 1 when we discuss which love language is our primary so that's kind of fun! And like the rest of the world, we have to share our two cents on what we think about this season of Love is Blind. We also would like to apologize for the states of our voices, flu season took ahold of us this week and so we're sounding like some "raspy sex gods". TW: Eating Disorders, Body Dysmorphia

Join Mak & Jubes this week as they discuss body dysmorphia and eating disorders with their friend/coworker Alexa! This episode focuses on how eating disorders and body dysmorphia revolve around each other, how they can impact you and your life, what the difference is between disordered eating and an eating disorder. Alexa is kind enough to share her experiences with body dysmorphia and eating disorders with us and the conversation gets quite personal for each of us. This is definitely an intense episode (which we try to break up with humor #copingmechanisms). To lighten the mood at the end we read an article that has 11 of the most annoying things customers do at coffee shops and we share our opinions on it. This episode is full of serious conversations, nervous laughter, and education so make sure to tune in.

Join Mak & Jubes this week as they discuss Seasonal Affective Disorder and all that accompanies SAD. This episode is very informational and full of nutrition advice to assist with seasonal depression. We talk a lot about the possible causes of SAD, symptoms of SAD, and what you can do to mitigate the impacts. Because Mak is currently studying Nutrition, she offers quite a bit of knowledge around how the food you're eating can impact the way you're feeling which contributes to feelings of SAD. In true Mak & Jubes fashion we focus on the holistic wellness options to treating SAD and while we're not giving medical advice in any capacity, we just wanted to have a conversation about Seasonal Affective Disorder in terms of holistic wellness. We then end this episode with a "would you rather segment"!

Join Mak & Jubes this week as they discuss the topic of self-awareness and understanding your emotions. We talk a lot about the importance of naming emotions so that you can understand them and how that will impact your life. Mak educates us ways our emotions are expressed, where they may be coming from, and how we may have developed emotional expression throughout our childhood. Mak also teaches Jubes about a technique to break down anxieties and emotions (which is a bit of a struggle at the beginning, but they get there by the end). This is a great conversation around emotions and emotional regulation, so make sure to tune in. Mak touches on energy work at the end which leads us into a nutrition conversation. Jubes then ends the episode with an excerpt from "The Midnight Library" by Matt Haig. 

The audio for this episode is not great so this might be one to watch on Youtube. We had a bit of a mix up with recording and it turns out the mics were not on...Oops!
