This episode grapples with the untimely passing of Kobe Bryant and others who perished in a helicopter crash, as well as highlights from Grammys 2020, review of "Bad Boys For Life", Vincent's gay teenage vision board memories and Barack Obama's exposed ankles.
Just in time for the start of Black History Month (sarcasm), we present the 3rd annual Somewhere Over The Rainbow Podcast Oscar Reelness bonus episode! Vincent and Dana are joined by special guest Cesar (Vincent's partner), to give their picks for the categories of Best Original Song, Lead Actor, Lead Actress, Best Director and Best Picture. And not to be left out, Mopsy provides her picks via email (she couldn't make it to taping because she's making money moves).
Welcome to the first official episode of the new Roaring 20's! Dana and Vincent kick off the new year with a lot of mucous (courtesy of Vincent's cold) and a lot of thoughts on the numerous crazy pop culture moments that have already taken center stage only two weeks into the new year, from Megxit, to the 2020 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class and special smelling candle from Gwyneth Paltrow. And, if that's not enough, there's a very special guest who joins for the "At The Movies" segment.
2019 is almost a wrap but before waving "bye Felicia" to it, Dana and Vincent do a rundown of the best (and some things loosely considered "the best") of the year in TV, Film, Music and Pop Culture!
Now that Thanksgiving is over, Dana and Vincent are ready to jump into the Christmas season with fervor (or maybe just Vincent). This super sized episode includes Dana's mom shading Bing Crosby, drama between Gabrielle Union and America's Got Talent, the new idiotic trend of "perineum sunning" developed by an embodied mermaid, so you know it's legit!
On this pre-Thanksgiving episode, Dana and Vincent give thanks for the blessings that pop culture has bestowed upon them like Baby Yoda, random non-sequitur songs from Celine Dion, the Charlie's Angels (the Kristen Stewart one) reboot flopping, Grammy 2020 nominations and soooo much more!
On this super sized episode, Dana and Vincent cover everything from babies, to BBMak. Vincent gets introspective while listening to George Michael songs, Dana discovers My Chemical Romance and they both give individually distinctive reviews of the new film "Last Christmas" (one thinks it was amazing and one thinks it was garbage...clearly they're the modern day Siskel and Ebert).
On this episode that surely you'll find addictive (shout out to Truth Hurts and Rakim), you'll get everything from old school jams on buses, to Lizzo lawsuits, to deals at Big Lots and the legendary Jane Fonda's Friday arrests. There's also a review of the Lifetime film "Patsy and Loretta" and "Yeah or Meh" featuring a "Facts of Life" reunion, the upcoming film "Last Christmas" and Celebrity Drag Race.
The essence of fall is in full effect on this episode that includes candle-lit ambiance and new fall treat, Turkey Balls (shoutout to Porto's). There are also RIP moments for legends such as Jessye Norman and Diahann Carroll, reviews of the films "Judy", "Joker" and "Dolomite is My Name", the week in pop culture with Jane Fonda's recent arrest, the unification of Lizzbians and Swifties and a "We See You Gurl" moment for Tyler Perry.
Hot girl summer is over, fall is here and so are Dana and a not-balding Vincent with this week in pop culture! Minus a minor senior moment from Vincent, a bevy of topics are discussed from analyzing dreams with baldness to thoughts on Emmys 2019, the tastiness of American Horror Story 1984, face tattoos (aka a cry for help), an onslaught of reboots that no one asked for and prayers for all the Carters.
