When you are consumed by an addiction - it sort of feels like you will never come out of it, even if you want. It also feels like there is so much judgement around you and that you are a complete failure. In this inspiring story, Eileen shares how she overcame addiction with arts and how she moved into a career.
Eileen Tull is a theatremaker, poet, educator, and one-woman-show person based in Chicago. Her work has been seen all over the country in theater spaces, but also in bookstores, art galleries, bars, and other non-traditional stages. In Chicago, she has worked with Stage Left, The Factory Theater, Broken Nose Theatre, Mortified Chicago, The Moth, Laugh Factory, and most recently, Theater Wit. Eileen published her first poetry collection, 33 Poems About Peanut Butter, in 2022. She is a creative arts instructor and teaches classes for kids, adults, and seniors.
