From May 3, 1950 comes today's Great Gildersleeve on Volume 94.  Everyone's getting ready for the coming wedding next week but when Bronco invites his old girlfriend and suddenly now goes missing the cry goes out, "Where's Bronco??".   Everyone's concerned including Jaye P. Morgan who thinks he's just gone out for a long walk, Bing Crosby tells us about that Girl Friend also in today's show are Lola Albright from Peter Gunn, Dean Martin, Julie London, Jimmy Dean with a great lesson & Tony Bennett!!   The great ones come out for Sounds Like Radio and the Gildy wedding and all just for you.   Enjoy.

Time for Sounds Like Radio Volume 93 and in Great Gildersleeve land it's April 26, 1950 and time for the Jolly Boys to come up with a wedding gift for Marjorie and Bronco.   Their idea is a doozy.   Least I kind of like it.   But to help out with ideas on hand today we have Fred Mertz from I Love Lucy/grandfather Bub on My 3 Sons/or just plain Bill Frawley himself to sing a little ditty the Jolly Boys will do, also a Jo Stafford song from an interesting album, Bing Crosby has a trail in mind for the newlyweds, film noir actress Liz Scot sings to be sure Marjorie's all legal at the marriage, Nat King Cole has a 1000 other ideas, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris harmonize about a gift and best of all we get to sing along with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans all about the Happy Trails we'll be taking when we listen to today's Sounds Like Radio.   Hit the play, I'm tired of talkin' and ready to roll.

In Volume 92 from Sounds Like Radio we have a very special episode of The Great Gildersleeve for it's here we hear about Marjorie & Leroy's late mother who was Gildersleeve's sister and the letter she left behind with her hopes for her children.   Gildy comes across it in the attic while looking for the wedding dress Marjorie would like to wear, her mother's.  

This is a nice episode and one of the reasons this series stands out from most others, its dramatic, touching and yet funny.   This is a show concerned with weddings and to help out with the dress and even the ring we have some fine singers and their ideas, Peggy Lee in a nice and unusual song, a visit from Crazy Gugenheim, Gale Storm (My Little Marjorie herself), Bing Crosby, and from my old album (pictured here) from when I was a little kid-Sophie Tucker and her matrimonial ideas and to close out Al Jolson with a little ditty he contributes.   Well, it's a fun show filled with good feelings and good music.  Enjoy.
