It’s definitely Christmas in the air time and we are back with an all new 2021 Christmas Special for you involving just some of the finest Christmas music you could ask for and a Great Gildersleeve we had to skip a month or 2 ago but saved it for now because it’s a special Christmas show. This is the December 14, 1949 show that would become a traditional Christmastime story each year (though done a little differently each year) in the future of Gildy.

Just a few of the great singers you’ll hear today are Peggy Lee, Dean Martin, Jo Stafford, Bing Crosby (couldn’t do a Christmas show without this guy) and more including a special visit from Grandpa with one of his Christmas stories we love to hear.

From Sounds Like Radio's Library of Sound come Volume 67, a Bing Crosby short show originally broadcast December 13, 1954.  In this show you'll hear Bing talk about the Christmas time happening at the Della Robbia Boys Rebublic.  Della Robbia wreaths are produced through a work experience program that teaches kids the true value of honest labor.   A lesson many an adult today could learn.  Listen as Bing sings some songs and talks about the wreaths at Della Robbia.   An early Bing Christmas present here from Your Humble Host.   Enjoy this 15 minute short show.  

Nero Wolfe Returns just in time to go to a Christmas Party.  That's today's Nero Wolfe Christmas feature on Volume 60 originally broadcast on February 13, 1982.   Based on the Rex Stout original story from 1958's "Four To Go" novel.   Santa Claus & mystery have always gone together and so they do on a Christmas Edition of Sounds Like Radio's Nero Wolfe from our Vast Library of Sound!

From the Vast Library of Sound Volume 66 comes a real classic funny Phil Harris-Alice Faye Christmas Show. In this show from December 11, 1949 Phil & his trusty pal Remley go out to buy Alice a mink coat for Christmas but then figure out it would be better to buy a dishwasher for her. But what to do to, how to install it?  Don’t worry Phil has Remley to do all the thinking.

A really funny show I listened to just today & just about every year and I still laugh out loud especially when I hear the jokes that I know are coming.

You’ll get another chance to hear Gildersleeve's Leroy (Walter Tetley) as the smart-aleck teen, Julius.  Also Joseph Kearns (Bronco’s father on Gildersleeve & Dennis The Menace's Mr. Wilson) will be on hand as the mink coat salesman.

Happy Yuletide Greetings To All.  We may be a bit early this year, but we've got a lot of Christmas specials and thought it'd be best to start now.  Besides, after Thanksgiving I'm in the mood for Christmas music and I even change my computer screen saver pictures over to all Christmas pictures now thru the first week of January.   And this year I think we need a little Christmas more than ever.  

Today you'll hear a whole host of goodies including Perry Como, along with a real favorite Kate Smith Christmas song of mine, Bing Crosby (naturally), Eddy Arnold, Dean Martin and much more I'll leave for surprises.   Including a 45 record my Dad got me when I was 6 and I still listen to it each year.  I'll give you a hint, it's the Night Before Christmas told by a very hap hap happy guy!   Also you'll hear the Great Gildersleeve special show which was a conclusion of a storyline that went along for several weeks. 

Maybe for the first time you will learn of the real and true story of the first Thanksgiving.   If you think you already know you just may be surprised at this- - the real complete story of the first Thanksgiving.   From the Vast Library of Sound comes this very special recording.  It is the real story of Thanksgiving, it was told every year since the 1980's by this one of a kind broadcaster and I recorded several of them over the years.  But this recording I made in November 2020 would be the very last time this famous broadcaster would be able to tell it.
