  • Time Abstracted [SSL84] - Spark My Muse
Today, I announce several big news items and the Soul School Lessons revolves around the idea of experiencing time as both an abstraction and concrete reality as we relate to others and ourselves. This is done with the help of what is elucidated through some of my reflections and the reading one of T.S. Eliot's most famous poems of the nature of time, "Burnt Norton".

As we experience the seasons, age, and remember, time has its way with us and twists more strangely than we expect that it might. How might this affect how we connect with others or experience the present, which is timeless?

Make sure to snap up the extras here

  • Eps 116: Deliberate Acts of Kindness, Guest Meredith Gould
How can you discern a new call to service? How can you tell if you're in a (subtly) spiritually abusive situation where your acts of service will lead to a debilitating burnout? Do you do service work or ministry to hide from something?

In this fascinating episode with Meredith Gould about her field guide to Service as a Spiritual Practice called "Deliberate Acts of Kindness", we touch on all these topics and more.

In troubled times, many of us want to help, and should help, but HOW we help and what we decide to do should be entered into with thoughtful consideration, reflection, prayer, and not through any coercion or guilt. Here is a roadmap for that.

Enjoy the show and be sure to jump in for the extras and help the show out for just $1 HERE: . When you do, you will ALSO see the NEW LOGO that has not been seen by the public yet. It will be unveiled when t-shirts are ready and the new website. Support at $9.99 and get a t-shirt when they are ready!!

Please pass this show on to others who need to recover from or avoid burnout. AND follow the podcast on TWITTER @sparkmymuse

  • [SSL83] Are You Failing the 3 Second Test?
Have you ever been excited to meet someone or converse about an idea and the whole encounter just seemed to misfire or the interpersonal connection seemed to go sideways, and you couldn't figure out why?

Research from Harvard Business School professor Dr Amy Cuddy shows that two surprising qualities are crucial to convey during the initial few seconds of contact with another person, and even the smartest and most capable people get it wrong.

Today, I'll discuss those two qualities (I've gotten it wrong too) and how you can build better rapport from the start. Best of all, I'll show you how you can avoid making the mistake that hard workers, confident achievers, and passionate creators too often make that ends up ruining their first impressions and sabotaging their future opportunities.

You'll never fail the 3 Second Test again!

Get the Bonus Features (with show notes, links, book info, AND plenty of access to other insider material from other episodes as you help the show for $1) by using this link.

If this helped you, let me know.

  • Eps 115: Be an Honest Thief, Guest Jeff Goins
Welcome to another Wednesday Audio release!

Best-selling writer, Jeff Goins says that too many creative people are hampered from making a living from their art because of a "Starving Artists Mentality". In my conversation with him today we discuss some of the most pervasive ways creative people fail to have "Thriving Artist Mentality" and how to make the switch–so that doing what you love most can be how you make a good living. His book details many case studies of how people did just that–including his own story.

We also cover some of his personal journey into becoming a best-selling author, "stepping into your calling", the purpose of making art, the thievery needed to be a good artist, creating a "portfolio life", and the best way to find a mentor or gain an apprenticeship.

Today is very practical and encouraging if you make things or if you want to take your art or creative life to the next level. Get all the EXTRAS, like links to people, books, websites, and places mentioned, at the special price of $1 for a whole MONTH of extras! -JUST CLICK HERE-
