  • Eps 77: Guest, Srini Rao - Being Unmistakable and Recovering From Failure
The unmistakable Srini Rao is the CEO of Unmistakable Creative Media. His blogging helped him move into podcasting and animation/media, and now a very successful book about how to find YOUR unmistakable thing. Our conversation is freshingly honest about the foolish traps that ensure us as we pursue our creative dreams, businesses, projects, or adventures. Srini also talks about his own bumpy road to success, how he picks his amazing podcast guests, why he got fired from every job he had, how to recover from failure, and his new book, Unmistakable: Why Only is Better Than Best.

Visit SparkMyMuse.com for extensive show notes, and links to many other episodes and goodies. Be kind and chip in a few bucks to support the show. (There's a donate button in the show notes, in my Twitter profile @lisadelay, and patreon.com/sparkmymuse is the monthly member club.)

I'm hearing from so many listeners (that is FUN!) and happy listeners are sharing episodes, rating the show on iTunes (SO AWESOME-thank you), and sending bits of money when then can to help me! Thanks for the love.

::COOL NEWS:: AUGUST was a record-breaking month–with more listeners than any EVER! Thank you. [We are heard 159 countries. yay! YOU did all that!]

There are plenty of amazing stories and guests to come and I'm very excited you are a part of it.
Buckle up...but then hold your hands up high for the ride.
    -AND ENJOY-

  • Eps 76: The Sin of Certainty and Misunderstanding the Bible: Guest Peter Enns
“All theology is psychology and sociology, [because] we are people who live in communities and people with histories.” - Peter Enns

Enjoy a wonderful conversation with Peter Enns today, not just about his new book "The Sin of Certainty" but about his life, and his career as a professor and (sometimes) controversial biblical scholar. We also talk about his writing (general audience books), his ideas about God over the years, his future projects, and the way we commonly read and misunderstand the bible and the (complicated and evolving over the centuries way) God that is written about within those pages. This episode is packed full of insightful and beneficial concepts and is such a TREAT to hear. Please, DO share it widely with friends and through your social media accounts!

Keep doing those retweets with audio links and Facebook shares. If you haven't will you write an iTunes review, today, please? YOU listening and helping - makes it worth it.

---Please be sure to check out the BIG NEW ANNOUNCEMENT (save-the-date) details at https://patreon.com/sparkmymuse and support the show monthly. Just $1 is all it takes.

  • Soul School - Lesson 46: The Story of How "Heathens" Received my Son
When "being a mascot" is the best your child can hope for in terms of peer acceptance and belonging (at your church no less), the context for you and your family shifts. How you help your child cope and where your find your salvation can take a surprising turn.

That is my personal story and the springboard for a deeper reflection today: about how we find our way in the world, make life better for ourselves, our family, and others, and maybe find some healing in the process.

The topics of "fear of other", suffering, shame, hospitality, disability, community, church, and the like, are covered well in my conversations with Tom Reynolds. Be sure to check those links in the show notes–they are invaluable.

(Also, photos and one of my sons videos will be embedded in the show notes and his youtube channel link where he loves to upload new creations will be listed in the show notes if you want to befriend him and encourage him in ways the Christian peers at church never wanted to. *You can also search youtube for: "Nathan DeLay trains". he adores getting new subscribers.)

Thank for being great listeners, friends and fans. So many retweets and Facebook shares, so many write reviews, and some even chip in with money and it warms my heart and quite LITERALLY- keeps the program solvent. If you haven't spread the word, given to the show or written an iTunes review, please be a part of the unique and loving base of this weird and wild Spark My Muse thing we're all doing. YOU - make it worth it.
