SPECIAL PREVIEW - Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre - More NFL Football is a Good Thing, Knicks and Suns want CP3 & Could LaMelo Ball fall in the NBA Draft?
On today's episode, Jason starts things off by explaining why he's fully on-board with the NFL's plan to switch to a 16-team Playoff bracket in the event that not every team can complete a full regular season schedule due to COVID. Producer Rob pushes back on the idea in a big way - and even Jason admits that the contingency plan should've been put into place before the season even started - but you can never have too much good NFL football. Later, the guys share their thoughts on the reports that the New York Knicks and the Phoenix Suns are both interested in trading for Chris Paul. Nobody really expects CP3 to play a full 82 games, but he could be very nice addition to either squad albeit for completely different reasons. Plus, NBA Draft analyst Matt Babcock swings by to explain why the lack of a clear-cut superstar doesn’t mean that this is a weak Draft at all, why the ‘entitled’ label surrounding LaMelo Ball could lead to him falling out of the top-5 picks, why he believes that Anthony Edwards is the most talented player available, why James Wiseman has the athletic profile of a guy like David Robinson – which should make him an ideal fit for today’s NBA, why character concerns could push Cole Anthony down a few Draft boards, and much more!
