Welcome back Reel Friends! This week, Alex and Walker were gifted with a familiar category; Animated Movies. This time around, the two decided on the 2007 classic Beowulf. "In the age of heroes, a mighty warrior named Beowulf (Ray Winstone) arrives at the court of King Hrothgar (Anthony Hopkins) and offers to rid the kingdom of a vicious demon called Grendel. He successfully slays the beast but thus incurs the wrath of Grendel's mother (Angelina Jolie), a creature as vicious and vengeful as she is seductive." Want to know how it ends? Welcome back Reel Friends! Last week, Alex and Walker drew the category of Movies Ahead of Their Time. In one of our earlier episodes, the duo had chosen Psycho for this category. This time around, they chose another classic that's sure to turn a few heads. Stanley Kubrick's 1971 film A Clockwork Orange seemed to be the logical choice, and gave the boys a lot to talk about. "In the future, a sadistic gang leader is imprisoned and volunteers for a conduct-aversion experiment, but it doesn't go as planned." Want to know more? Welcome back Reel Friends! This week, our hosts Alex and Walker strayed away from the normal format and chose their own category instead of relying on the Reel of Fate. The chose to use this episode to honor the late Ray Liotta who recently passed away. The two thought what better way to honor him then to watch Martin Scorsese's film Goodfellas. "A young man grows up in the mob and works very hard to advance himself through the ranks. He enjoys his life of money and luxury, but is oblivious to the horror that he causes. A drug addiction and a few mistakes ultimately unravel his climb to the top. Based on the book "Wiseguy" by Nicholas Pileggi." Want to know how it ends? Welcome back Reel Friends! Last episode, Alex and Walker were given the category of best Western films. After discussing a few options, the two decided on the 2010 remake of True Grit. "After an outlaw named Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin) murders her father, feisty 14-year-old farm girl Mattie Ross (Hailee Steinfeld) hires Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges), a boozy, trigger-happy lawman, to help her find Chaney and avenge her father. The bickering duo are not alone in their quest, for a Texas Ranger named LaBoeuf (Matt Damon) is also tracking Chaney for reasons of his own. Together the unlikely trio ventures into hostile territory to dispense some Old West justice." Want to know how the journey ends? Then sit back, relax, and enjoy this week's episode of Spin The Reel!

Welcome back Reel Friends! This week, Alex and Walker tackle a familiar category, Best Opening Scene. This movie has been mentioned before, and happens to be Alex's favorite childhood movie. The two decided that The Lion King was a great fit for the category. "This Disney animated feature follows the adventures of the young lion Simba (Jonathan Taylor Thomas), the heir of his father, Mufasa (James Earl Jones). Simba's wicked uncle, Scar (Jeremy Irons), plots to usurp Mufasa's throne by luring father and son into a stampede of wildebeests. But Simba escapes, and only Mufasa is killed. Simba returns as an adult (Matthew Broderick) to take back his homeland from Scar with the help of his friends Timon (Nathan Lane) and Pumbaa (Ernie Sabella)." Welcome back Reel Friends! This week, Alex and Walker had the task of sorting through sci-fi films for this week's category. Ultimately they chose to watch 2201: A Space Odyssey. "An imposing black structure provides a connection between the past and the future in this enigmatic adaptation of a short story by revered sci-fi author Arthur C. Clarke. When Dr. Dave Bowman (Keir Dullea) and other astronauts are sent on a mysterious mission, their ship's computer system, HAL, begins to display increasingly strange behavior, leading up to a tense showdown between man and machine that results in a mind-bending trek through space and time." Welcome back Reel Friends! Last week, Alex and Walker spun the Reel Of Fate and were given the category of Walker's Choice. As we've seen before, this meant that Walker had to suggest a few movies he was interested in, and Alex had to choose a film from those suggestions. To our surprise (not really), 1917 was one of Walker's top suggestions. A war film suggestion? From Walker?? Who woulda guessed! But Alex was intrigued by the plot of the story, and decided to finally give it a shot after hearing about it for the last two years. And honestly, what a film it was my friends. This 2019 war film takes place on April 6th, 1917. As an infantry battalion assembles to wage war deep in enemy territory, two soldiers are assigned to race against time and deliver a message that will stop 1,600 men from walking straight into a deadly trap. This movie, directed by Sam Mendes, is a beautifully shot and well researched film about World War 1. From accurately designed tranches, fantastic acting, and gut wrenching scenes, you are enveloped into the horrors and triumph these brave men faced. This movie will have you holding your breath, anxiously waiting for the next turn of events. Want to know more? Then sit back, relax, and enjoy this week's episode of Spin The Reel!

Welcome back Reel Friends! This week, Alex and Walker revisit one of the first categories they ever released, Oscar Wins For Forgettable Roles. This time, they chose Monster's Ball for Halle Berry's win for Best Actress in a Leading Role. "After a family tragedy, a racist prison guard re-examines his attitudes while falling in love with the African-American wife of the last prisoner he executed." This movie has plenty of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Want to know how it ends? Then sit back, relax, and enjoy this week's episode of Spin The Reel!

Welcome back Reel Friends! Last week, Alex and Walker were given the category of Amazon Prime Originals. After a few good mentions, the pair ultimately decided on Borat Subsequent Moviefilm. "Released from prison for bringing shame to his country, Kazakh funnyman Borat risks life and limb when he returns to America with his 15-year-old daughter, and this time he reveals more about the American culture, the COVID-19 pandemic and the political elections." Welcome back Reel Friends! This week, Alex and Walker tackle the category of Decade Favorites! We have seen this category before, but this time we're looking at the 1950's. After discussing some excellent potentials, the guys decided on Rebel Without a Cause. "After moving to a new town, troublemaking teen Jim Stark (James Dean) is supposed to have a clean slate, although being the new kid in town brings its own problems. While searching for some stability, Stark forms a bond with a disturbed classmate, Plato (Sal Mineo), and falls for local girl Judy (Natalie Wood). However, Judy is the girlfriend of neighborhood tough, Buzz (Corey Allen). When Buzz violently confronts Jim and challenges him to a drag race, the new kid's real troubles begin."
