Welcome back Reel Friends! We are so happy to be back after taking a week off, and your boys have picked an awesome film to discuss for you this week! Last episode, Alex and Walker were given the category of Twists That Ruined Movies. This is a category they have used before, so they were excited to add more movies to the list. Eventually, the two decided on A History of Violence. This 2005 David Cronenberg film has an amazing cast including Vigo Mortensen, Maria Bello, Ed Harris, and the late William Hurt. "When a pair of petty criminals attempt to rob his small-town diner, Tom Stall (Viggo Mortensen) quickly and easily kills them both. In the flush of news coverage of Tom's seemingly heroic actions, a threatening stranger named Carl Fogarty (Ed Harris) comes to town, fingering the unassuming family man as long-missing Philadelphia mobster Joey Cusack." With such a star studded cast and interesting premise, it would almost seem like a shock it would belong in this category, but your hosts and movie goers around the globe seem to agree that it does. Welcome back Reel Friends! You're in for a treat this week. Alex and Walker were given the category of Best Picture Winners by the Reel of Fate. It's not easy to choose from such a fantastic list as this, but after some awesome honorable mentions, the two decided on No Country for Old Men. This 2007 Coen brother's film is packed full of tense and thrilling turns, leaving you guessing until the very end. Not only was it a best picture winner, but it also resulted in Javier Bardem being the first all Spanish-language actor to win an oscar for Best Actor. "While out hunting, Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) finds the grisly aftermath of a drug deal. Though he knows better, he cannot resist the cash left behind and takes it with him. Welcome back Reel Friends! Last week, the Reel Of Fate gave our hosts an intriguing and unfortunate category; On-Scene Tragedies. This category definitely narrowed down the list of potential films for the week, but Alex and Walker both agreed that one stood out in particular.  When thinking of movies that have such tragedies, most people think of the 1994 thriller The Crow. While shooting the movie, lead actor Brandon Lee suffered a fatal gunshot to the abdomen when a prop gun was improperly loaded with a live bullet. Tragedy aside, this film is definitely a classic, and one of Alex's favorite movies.  In this film, we follow Eric, a man who was brutally murdered.
