In this episode I am talking to Elizabeth Bodien about her book 'Bigger Pete: Conversations Between Life and Afterlife'.

When Pete was asleep, Elizabeth was in hypnotic trance, communicating through a psychic practice known as automatic writing. Bigger Pete is Elizabeth Bodien’s parapsychological memoir about communicating with her brother over the last eight years of his life—and into the afterlife.

Families and friends of people with Down syndrome will relish the loving communication between Pete, who had Down syndrome, and his sister Elizabeth. Caregivers of people with late-stage Alzheimer’s will also recognize their own struggles in this personal story. Elizabeth Bodien is the author of two books of poetry: Blood, Metal, Fiber, Rock and Oblique Music: A Book of Hours and one non-fiction work: Journeys with Fortune: A Tale of Other Lives, a collection of her past lives experienced while in hypnotic trance. Her poems, essays, and book reviews have appeared in Cimarron Review, Crannóg, and Parabola, among other publications in the USA, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and India. She holds degrees in cultural anthropology, consciousness studies, religions, and poetry, and has worked as an English instructor in Japan, an organic farmer in the Oregon mountains, a childbirth instructor in West Africa, a Montessori teacher, and as a professor of cultural anthropology.
