Planning to go all in on your Spiritual Business: Part 2
This episode is part two of my recent episode Planning to Go All In on Your Spiritual Business. In that episode, I offered tips based on what I would or wouldn’t do again in my transition to a full-time spiritual business.That episode was very popular, and I wanted to share some additional things that I wish I had said.

This path is more safe and secure than any job I’ve had working for another company. When my brother was ill in March, I was able to be with him for three weeks
The evidence I’ve collected is that a 9 to 5 is not more secure
Know your why you before you invite people into your spiritual bubble
I showed my Capricorn husband a spreadsheet of earning potential
My why was that I wanted to drop my kids off at school and pick them up
We are a matriarchal family so quality of life is my responsibility
I hope my children start businesses instead of entering the workforce
I am demonstrating to them what it looks like to pursue your dreams
Have a few versions of an elevator pitch for different situations
Practice out loud for responses to people who have challenging reactions
In 2020, I found an old journal from where I had outlined my dream week
I cried when I realized that my schedule at the time was almost identical
Get clear on what you want instead of why you are unsatisfied

I am so excited to have Rae Embrey back on Spirit School! In our previous episode, Rae was talking to us about animal communication and healing. Today, she is here to share about her Business Energetics & Healing sessions and the layers that are involved. Rae is a huge part of my self care! She and I met in a business mastermind and we have since become good friends. I hire her every month to do energy clearing and energy alignment sessions for myself and my business. Rae is also our guest mentor in the Spirit School Collective this month and I am excited for her to share more in that space!

June 08, 2022Planning to Go All In on Your Spiritual Business: Part One
I want to thank you for all of your kind words about the June Spirit Messages! It really means a lot to me because I showed up at a time when I typically would have retreated. My transparency is always met with love and I will continue to thank you for listening.
This week’s topic is something I get asked about a lot, especially in the Spirit School Collective, my monthly membership community. Many of you ask me how to create a “corporate escape plan” to leave your jobs! I will share some of the things that I did to prepare when I left my corporate career to pursue mediumship and teaching full-time.

In this episode:
I had no intention of leaving, just a knowing that I would enjoy my days more doing this work
I began immersing myself in content and podcasts about the corporate escape
Not everyone has the privilege and access I had to make this transition the way I did it
I had been building my audience for years and my husband also has a full-time income
For offline, I recommend getting involved in your community and even booking a local space
My business started with referrals from clients and one Saturday a month
You can build an online audience off or on social media
On social media, choose a platform you like such as Instagram, Facebook or TikTok
Off social media would be your newsletter, podcast or YouTube channel etc.
Vanity metrics like the number of followers doesn’t determine if you get booked
I have treated my online presence as a development blog, sharing my experiences
It is important to start this now, so you have people to sell to when you make the leap
I had a small but engaged audience of about 1500 followers when I went full-time
There are some unattainable figures for how much savings to have to leave your job
The amount you need to feel safe is personal and is something to figure out
There are a lot of resistances that come up when you start considering leaving
The external resistances were the consistency and benefits of corporate
Behind the layers, the root of the resistance was the fear of losing my house
Calling out my fear out loud on my commute took the power away from it
Doing it part-time brings clarity around what structure works for your goals
Another tip is to apply for whatever credit you can get with your full-time employment
Giving yourself specific timelines is exhausting and will make you feel like you’re failing
You will know when it’s time, so be flexible and remember there is no rush
On paper, it was not a good time when I left, but my podcast blew up and people were reaching out
I hadn’t considered teaching online but I followed the lead of what my audience asked for

This has been one of the most difficult years of my life. We are at the midway point and the first thing Spirit has inspired me to say is that you are doing amazing. Regardless of how things are going, you are doing amazing. Remind yourself that you are doing your very best. Too often, we are aware of what we are doing wrong but rely on external sources for support. If you haven’t listened to the last episode, Good Enough, you can go back to it for more on that as well.
I almost didn’t do these June Spirit Messages because I am experiencing my PMDD hell week. I would have been okay with that because I honour myself first. I decided to take this opportunity to experiment with a new way of doing these messages for you and allowing spirit to speak through me. Taking the time to connect deeply with Spirit at this time was a way to have my own back. This is the focus of our messages. Do you have your own back?
In this episode:
Do you have your own back? For most of us, it’s a no
I am no longer afraid of the unknown
We talk ourselves out of things when our body matches a negative thought
If you had your own back, would you show up anyways despite the discomfort?
You have everything you need to show up for yourself the way you do for others
The blinders that keep us from seeing our magnificence are a choice
We pacify ourselves to avoid discomfort instead of taking incredible opportunities
Give yourself the support you would someone else taking a leap
Call your energy back. What does having your own back look like for you?
Understanding how to use the mind in harmony with the body
When triggered, the first thought is your pattern
The second thought should be to say “I am safe in this moment”
The third question is a gift from your soul to crack you open
You choose whether to change the pattern
This month, recognize your magnificence in every corner of your life
I felt emotional with a lot of love and mother energy
After this experience I am feeling light and free instead of the PMDD discomfort
New Beginnings - moving forward without fear of the unknown
Positive Movement Forward - riding into the sunset, hawk energy
Universe - we are not alone, but rather connected to oneness, a mindset shift
Transformation - it is already happening

Today’s episode is about the phrase “good enough.” I will be exploring it from a development lens. Even if we are able to feel that the other aspects of our lives exceed what is “good enough” for us, what we offer our clients never feels like it meets that standard. This is a theme that comes up in all of my containers, so I know it’s not just me! The episode is co-created with 25 of my Spirit School Collective members who shared their responses to the phrase.
As you may have seen on Instagram, I am so excited to share that the Spirit School podcast has officially crossed 200,000 downloads! Seeing 10-15,000 downloads each week is mind blowing to me as I was pleased when I had 5 downloads a week before I told anyone I had a podcast! Thank you all for listening to what I have to share and for supporting me on this part of my path.

In this episode:
Say the phrase “good enough” and see if you feel expanded or contracted
I feel expanded in my personal life, but contracted thinking about my work
“Good enough” was made up and only functions to make us feel less than
In mediumship, the equivalent is waiting 6 months for a reading
Phrases only have meaning when we all repeat it and agree with its usage
What individual meaning do we want to give to the phrase “good enough”?
Where did it start in our life?
In the Collective, comparison was a common “good enough” wound
Seeing others do well highlights what they are not doing well
We likely will never feel like we’re done with spiritual growth
We get to choose our beliefs and can choose to celebrate instead
We protect our egos and are often not thinking of the sitter’s experience
Use an introduction to share what you do well, not what you don’t
Confidence is directly related to feeling “good enough”
Lean into acceptance that there will always be things to work on and let go
Your inner saboteur that gives impossible expectations isn’t your true voice
The reader remembers the misses and the sitter remembers the hits
I choose to serve the world of spirit instead of giving my power to the human sitter
Spirit is never disappointed in you. You will have the opportunity to try again
An exercise to determine what you measuring stick of “good enough” is for readings
Everyone is different, so mediumship can’t have a one size fits all structure
Declare to spirit what kind of medium you want to be and allow them to align you
Consider replacing the phrase good enough altogether
Sessions that are “not good enough” do not define your practice

Lecture Series: Evolving Spiritual Philosophies from IGTV
This episode is from the Spirit School Lecture Series that highlights my live teachings in the areas of mediumship, spiritual and personal development, entrepreneurship and quality of life. Today’s episode about evolving spiritual philosophies is from an IGTV video in February 2022.
This live video was from a time when I was struggling emotionally, physically and spiritually and I feel that it will likely resonate with many of you at this time as well. I then shared about changing my spiritual beliefs through experiences.
Some of the main points from the episode are:
Finding mediumship when I was searching for what happens to people who were not good people in this lifetime when they pass
At age 17, I found Sylvia Brown’s work and read all of her books, taking them as truth
I became a paranormal investigator and that was my spirituality at the time
Beginning my mediumship journey at 31, my experiences did not reflect her beliefs
I had a mentor who taught us to seek answers ourselves from spirit
My experiences with people who crossed themselves over was not the harsh reality Sylvia described
I teach from my experiences in the current moment and they change as I grow and evolve over time
I am also open to expanding on what I bring into my healing journey
When we sign up for a spiritual path, we have to grow and evolve
When some popular figures went born again Christian, my guides said that people serving out of integrity are redirected to a different way of being
We choose our beliefs
You will always end up where you’re meant to be, you may just have different stories depending on your choices
I don’t do psychic readings because it feels like taking away free will
My public speaking coach helped me connect to my feminine energy through my authentic voice
The colour red is has archetypal feminine energy
I am finally starting to share my beliefs on things I’m passionate about
You have to put yourself out there before your ready to not get stuck in fear
I have healers to support me with energetic cleansing and cord cutting
We all have blind spots as lightworkers
Envy is being expanded by what someone else has
I do not believe in triggering people intentionally and am getting certified in trauma informed practices
Emotions get stored in our bodies and we aren’t taught to process them
We can be multifaceted in our offerings with multiple modalities
I am working towards finding unconditional power

I don’t know how April was for you, but for me it was the shining gem of 2022 so far! January to March was very challenging so it was refreshing to have a spacious month with very few hours of work scheduled. I’m sure you know by now that I can be a bit of a workaholic.
I have always been passionate about my work in every position I’ve held, but there is nothing that compares to what I am creating with Spirit School. The first inspiration for May is forgiving ourselves
Why are you so hard on yourself? And why do you continue to berate yourself?
This may be shame around things you would do differently
You can forgive yourself for the act without retraumatizing yourself
Let the energy and the intention of the words “I forgive myself” drip into your heartspace
Instead of dwelling on the past or going back to old patterns, what will you choose now?
Repeat the mantra throughout May until you feel it and new thought patterns can begin
Use Mercury retrograde to clean up inner dialogue and make up with yourself
Set up a date with yourself to start fresh
Patience - look at your work as a lifetime, not a season
Recognition & Reward - more from within than external payoff
Triumph - offerings launched or applying for positions in May will likely be successful
Success looks and feels different for every person and can be just starting
Things started this month will create a foundation for you
Do the thing you’ve been putting off to avoid self punishment
I enjoy having conversations with people who are not developing spiritually
It gets easier to have these conversations as your confidence grows

Cycles and Schedules - The Birth of Goddess Week
I have been wanting to talk more about spiritual entrepreneurship on the podcast for the past year, but I had a lot of healing and deconditioning to do first before I could do so openly. As I mentioned in the previous episode, there are not a lot of spiritual mentors treating their practice as a business and teaching about that side of it. This episode intertwines my journey with PMDD and how I have structured my business to allow for one week off every month to honour my feminine energy. Your cycles as a lightworker are important and I even have a module for members of the collective that goes more in depth about why.

Topics covered in this episode:
Instead of being upset, my clients appreciated me showing them that it was possible to take time off in their business
A minimum of 2 weeks off per year is not conducive to work/life balance
I hired a coach who talked about having a week off per month because that was a goal of mine when I went full-time in my practice in 2020
My therapist recognized that the times of extreme reaction and rage were because I was suffering with PMDD
I was able to track my cycle with the Stardust App
I had a thought that this rage was related to me not honouring my feminine
My desire for a week off per month and not being able to work during my PMDD “hell week” were aligning and Goddess week was born
Entrepreneurship is creative, not prescriptive
Goddess week is for preservation and I learned a lot in the first two months
In January, I was forced to rest when I got COVID and in February, I did not honour my break from social media and was triggered by a DM
I had a peaceful week in March that allowed me to put my family first
In April, I was able to take my family on vacation without needing to reschedule anything and my PMDD symptoms were nonexistent
Goddess Week may be a new norm for spiritual entrepreneurship and it is an act of self love
Think about what days and what time you enjoy doing your readings
Track these cycles and test out different schedules to get clarity
Boundaries are difficult but necessary for you to show up well for your clients
A scheduling system is crucial for a clear and smooth booking process
Be realistic about how many readings you have to do for your income goals
I acknowledge that I made the leap to full-time from a privileged place

April 14, 2022The Transition to Charging for Spiritual Services
I haven’t covered this topic on the podcast before now, but my program The Calling is all about how to make the leap into charging for spiritual services as an entrepreneur. I had to teach myself because no one was really talking about it! My first mentor told me that I should not be considering my work as a medium to be a business, which really made the transition to paid readings a difficult one for me. A lot of shame came up around money and spirituality that I've had to walk through.
I want to share my journey with you and also some signs that you might be ready to start charging for your spiritual services or raise your prices. I know these signs well because in addition to my own experience, many of my clients come to me when they are ready to take the leap! Almost immediately after going full-time in my practice, people were hiring me to help with creating structures for their businesses so that they could focus on the work they love.
Some topics I cover in this episode:
Wanting to understand my gift deeply before considering practice readings for the public
I set a goal for myself of 150 free readings before I would begin charging
My first paid readings were at an event held by a friend for $20 per person, then referrals
Increasing prices as expenses for my online business increased
Paying for my development with the money from my readings
Figuring out pricing to replace my corporate salary
The connection between pricing and how I felt about myself
Some healing is intergenerational in the spiritual space
The first story we carry is the belief that we shouldn’t charge for our gifts
The second story is, “How can I charge $X for a specified amount of time?”
The third story is worrying that people won’t be able to afford your price
The final story is, “I am not good enough yet”
As I develop and invest my time, the price needs to reflect that
There is a lot of healing that comes up as a human on this path
This is a lifetime path, so there is no rush to get to the next destination
Teaching about entrepreneurship is a passion of mine and I can’t wait for the next round of The Calling, a 3 month experience, which starts on May 18!

Hello Spirit School Listeners! I’m so happy to be back with the April Spirit Messages. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I had to step away from my business and my practice for three weeks in March due to a family emergency. It feels like yesterday that I recorded the last spirit messages and I feel like I’m not the only one who felt personally attacked by March!
I am starting a 12 month series of masterclasses that will begin in April with Discover Your Personal Session style. It is for anyone - whether you’re already serving the public or you’re aspiring to do so one day! No matter what your modality, you will learn about what your magic is that sets you apart. This course will be free for anyone in the Spirit School Collective and there will be a 90 minute Q&A in the community as well! You can also choose to just attend the masterclass.
April will be an exciting month in the collective as we have a few more classes and events! Our guest mentor Lynn Tucknies is my Emotion Code practitioner and her sessions have been life changing for my family. We will also have classes on Chakras 101, Manifesting with Synchronicity and Clearing Low Vibrational Energies by members of the collective.
We are going to be moving to a new platform this summer and I am so excited for the expansion and changes I have planned for the Spirit School Collective!
Highlights from the April Spirit Messages
In March, I learned that in times of chaos, we learn a lot about ourselves and our priorities
I learned that I am a family first person even though I love working
Some of you may be the opposite, shifting your energy from being all about your family to find what lights you up
When we aren’t making necessary shifts, chaos comes and we are fundamentally changed on the other side of it
We are surrounded with multiple conflicting truths at once and we get to choose ours
As a person with a positive bias, I am able to see beauty in the darker experiences
We have it backwards when we try to control things we can’t and are apathetic to the things we can
A lot of people feel stuck in jobs and situations that they could choose to change
Confidence comes from knowing who you are first, not validation
The other side of mediumship development is the human part that shows up
