This week the boys and their buddy Pat recap their hunting seasons so far in a good old fashioned BS session. A lot has happened for us since the recording of this show the Wednesday before rifle season opened in Missouri and I am sure we will have a show recapping that as well. Good luck the remainder of rifle season folks. Stay safe and shoot straight.

On this episode of The Western Rookie Dan talks with Jason, Adam and Joe, three first time elk hunters that all found success this season at Elk Camp.
Dan attends an elk camp in Colorado with some of his closest hunting buddies. Each year they make it a priority to help other hunters that have never had success hunting elk. This year they set the bar high by successfully taking 7 bulls down (5 of which were taken by first time elk hunters). Dan and the guys recap each of their stories in detail as they relive these moments that just happened.

It is hard to believe November is almost halfway over, and for John and his hunting partner Nate Jasper, that means their attention is turning to late season elk hunting. John and Nate started hunting elk together in Idaho during college in 2009, but this is a totally different type of hunt than anything either of them have ever done before. The two started out rifle hunting elk in October, but then transitioned to September archery hunting and have done that ever since. The hunt they are about to experience however, is Colorado's fourth season rifle hunt. This hunt takes place the week of Thanksgiving in late November. Cold and Snowy are probably the best way to describe the conditions, two things John in particular is not very experienced with as of late since graduating and moving away from Idaho in 2013.
On this episode of the Oklahoma Outdoors Podcast, John and Nate discuss their upcoming trip. They talk about the gear they plan to bring for a trip that has a lot of uncertainty when it comes to weather. It could be anywhere from 60 to -20 at any given time and everywhere in between. Apart from clothes, the guys also talk about gear such as packs, binoculars and spotting scopes, guns, and even four wheeler accessories. The guys also discuss some strategies they think will be helpful on the trip, and where they might be able to find some bulls.

This week on the Michigan Wild Podcast, Marcus is joined by his brother-in-law and hunting buddy, Mike Zundel. The guys take a break from their weekend hunt to recap their mornings along with the season itself. The guys talk about some of the challenges they face hunting new property along with how deer activity tends to change from year to year. Mike talks about his yearly plans to take doe off the land, and how he usually abandons that after the first week of the season. This is just a classic huntin' buddy BS session and one that should get you ready opening day of firearm season.

The second week of November is coming to a close. As buck sightings taper off, many will suppose that the bucks are simply locked down with a doe and their odds of success have just withered away. While it's true that a buck will stay with a doe for a day or two, there are a few ways hunters can capitalize on this brief window.
In this episode of the How to Hunt Deer Podcast, Josh talks with K.C. Smith from the Element about hunting bucks during the lockdown phase of the rut. K.C. has a great perspective on what the lockdown is, what the deer are actually doing, and how to get on the action, even when you may not see the cruising and chasing kind of rutting behavior of prior weeks.
