In this episode of *Squeezing the Plums*, Steve and Ben explore the best ways each and every person can go from an IDEA to a creating a BUSINESS.
Ben started his first business in 2012 called Five point Four, where he cooked meals for high performing athletes. It started off with just a few athletes, but within a few months he was cooking over 500 meals every weekend. And within a few years, he had a commercial kitchen turning over almost 3,000,000 meals with a projected annual revenue of 15million.
He learnt everything about entrepreneurship whilst completing his university degree and working part time in a supplement store.
Fivepointfour was a disruptor to the likes of Jenny Craig and Light and Easy before a horrible change in fate.
In this podcast we discuss what happened to Fivepointfour and Ben’s journey to get back onto the startup train including his new business recently advertised by Ian Thorpe called My Charity Change.
And most importantly Ben spends this podcast leaning into the key learnings and advice he provides to start up founders as part of his consultancy work in Australia.

Apex Leadership? What the …..
You may have heard of Apex Predators, but how is it that you can apply that too leadership? Apex predators are the top of the food chain, they maintain the ecosystem and they command the respect of their other inhabitants.
Alongside that Leadership in my mind has always been a multifaceted but to keep it simple it’s the ability to influence and look after the person to the left and right of you alongside yourself.
Often people think Leadership directly correlates with rank or authority yet we all know people who are in high positions that we wouldn’t follow. Think Covid, Melbourne and the State Government.
To discuss Apex Leadership I have brought in my special guest Patty McDonald.
Combining the essence of leadership alongside an Apex position of authority is something i hadn’t to this date explored the concept off. And so in this podcast Patty shares with us his thoughts, knowledge and experience studying Apex Predators and Leadership.

In this podcast episode, I discuss the importance of accountability and the difference between the finite and infinite game.
I normally pre record my episodes and have them edited and ready for release every Tuesday.
However due to a number of factors I share on the podcast I was unable to release this weeks episode and hence comes the dilemma. Do I miss a week or keep the promise to myself. AND ALSO WTF do I talk about?
This episode was recorded 3 times, if you want to hear the raw/unedited full version where my computer software shut down twice then visit my Instagram @iamstevesingh and I will post it up there.
In the mean time the next 10 minutes might be one of the best episodes I've produced. Under the pump, in between patients I have found something I'm passionate about and that is ACCOUNTABILITY.
So have a listen, it might get your backside into gear and help you achieve the goals and dreams you have set out for yourself without the stress that comes with it!

Meet Simba Khaira,
A friend of mine for over a decade, Simba and I met in our early 20’s. We were two brown brothers united through our social circles, gym and loving the hustle and grind.
However like most men, we are great at sharing the good and not so open about sharing the struggles.
Simba although fit and strong in his early 20’s was suffering from ankylosing spondylitis, an inflammatory disease of the spine and body which riddles people of their movement and livelihood.
At the same time I was battling with my cluster headaches. And yet up until recently neither of us knew about each others battles.
As our lives moved on we both went on seperate but similar journeys looking at differing practices of healing, psychedelics and inner work to rid ourselves of our conditions.
🚀 Episode 23 of @squeezingtheplums with Simba covers:
💥 Not accepting a diagnosis without a fight
💥 The MERJ principle to living a vital life
💥 The Psychedelic trap people fall into
💥 Love, Growth and Fame
