SSAA Podcast

Hello old and new listeners to the Ass Backwards Anime Podcast, commonly shortened as the SSAA Podcast. Since this may be our first episode on the A.A.A. Network, I wanted to make sure we start off strong with a good episode for the new listeners. Unfortunately, the old listeners already know that we would never be able to pull that off. So instead, I, Doctor, will have a solo episode dedicated to our brand new recurring segment, Challenge Accepted. This is where I will try to find at least five good things about a terrible show requested by the listeners. In this episode, I talk about Chu-Bra!!

You looking for a great movie to watch alone after all of your friends ditched you at the theaters? We have a movie for you. It is the very polarizing film, Sucker Punch. Since I had a strong urge to talk about this movie, I thought I would wait until enough people got a chance to catch the movie before it eventually gets thrown out of theaters. We even got our friend Jammer from The AniMovie AniManga Podcast to come by. We are going to spoil everything. You have been warned.

Well, this episode would have been out a lot sooner if it wasn’t for St. Patrick’s Day. Actually, it would have been a lot shorter and more incoherent due to more than half of the people in the recording had just came back from a pub. This is take two of this episode of the Ass Backwards Anime Podcast where we bring to you some of our recommendations for shows to watch or manga to read. I will also remember not to schedule recording during moments like that. Don’t drink and drive, kids.

This episode ended up being too big for firmware. It’s really hard for me to come up with a funny intro to this episode. As you should know by now, the events of what happened in Japan is all over the news. There really is no point for me to repeat what others have already written about it. I feel that everything that needs to be said was said in the beginning segment and is everything that you need to hear. What I want people to know is that the show must go on. Even if we get delays, here is what to expect for the spring season of anime.

Yes, we are still here. No, the other podcasts are not distracting us from you. Yes, we are here to talk about anime. No, I did not really edit much in this episode. Actually, if you were tuned into our live stream page, you would have noticed how much editing I would have actually done. You could have also caught this episode as it was being recorded live. Since we don’t want the people who missed the live show to feel bad, I left most of this episode uncut so everyone can experience how terrible we really are. In case you are wondering what we were actually talking about, it was one of our favorites, Martian Successor Nadesico.

It has been a while since our last tokusatu related episode. By our last, I mean my last and by episode, I mean torture. This time, however, I am not alone (thankfully). Foxy and our resident punching bag, Funkatron, joins me to talk about the recent series to the Kamen Rider franchise, Kamen Rider W.

This is a very special episode of the Ass Backward Anime Podcast. This is the official beginning of our two new shows: Just A Gintama Podcast and One Podcast Prevails. If you were already tired of hearing our voices before, you better unsubscribe now (please don’t). We will be back to our normal schedule once the dust has settled. Until then, enjoy us fangasming over our respective shows.

I am sure you are probably wondering what Anime Empire has anything to do with this episode of the podcast. No, we did not interview any of the staff of A-Empire. Actually, this episode is not even a continuation of our piracy episode. This really is a way for us to thank the people of Anime Empire for all the hard work and dedication they put into their dozens of projects. While most of the talk about them is in our feedback section, we are still going to give you another list of mistakes that we have made during this last run of episodes.

Since Doctor often records episodes without warning or our prior knowledge for the sole purpose of creating a bigger fanbase for himself for the inevitable day when he vote-kicks all of us from the podcast, Peterson and I made a promise to ourselves that we would one day record our own solo episodes that would be better and grander than his. Of course, the results are a lot different when we actually tried. He did his thing about some manga or something like always & then I tried talking to myself for hours and hours. Since the Top of the Aughts is mostly my project I decided to make things easier for myself and talk about some things I love from that list and some things I hate about them. Sorry about the Christmas music and the little children next door.
