If you think that there is no way to compete in the notebook market then you need to think twice. Yes, it is hard but you need to ask yourself, "how can I innovate or add a unique selling proposition to have people buy my notebook?"

Some examples that people have already come up with are:

• Fidget toy cover notebooks
• personalized notebooks from Etsy (so many cool examples!)
• the reusable notebook where you can erase all your notes by putting it in the microwave...

We can all wholesale to sell clothes for our boutique or clothing brands. Now the problem is that these pieces of clothing will not be unique. It's definitely possible to have the correct marketing material in play to sell these clothes but to stand out from the crowd or at least give you a better chance to succeed is by innovation.

Can you create a piece of clothing that fixes a problem? Or can you create a design that nobody has seen before or maybe a design that improves your athletic ability? Add a layer of user-generated content and things will get interested according to Jordan Bias who works with online brands in the clothing space through his digital marketing agency Ecom Fluenz.

As a company and brand, innovation is key. Without innovation and implementation of new technologies, you may fall behind the pack.

NFTs and the metaverses are becoming more mainstream and giant companies are venturing into this web3.0 space to maximize future returns. This sounds crazy but this is the new wave that only benefits both the consumer and the brands.

We all know (or do we?) that paid advertising is the best way to scale a business. Organic reach is great but to reach a wider spectrum of people at any given time, paid reach is the best way.

Does that mean that organic content should be ignored after a certain aspect of success in your DTC business? Most certainly no. In fact, Andrea Esamor, a Facebook Ads coach, tells us that it is best to focus on organic reach prior to doing paid ads.

It's normal for DTC brands or dropshipping businesses to go immediately into Facebook ads but her recommendation is to build a foundation via content and connecting with a community. Only until then, you can really start making ads to get more sales. Let's dive into why this is and if this is the right approach for your new DTC business!

There are many ways to sell products online. Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, and so on. Retail arbitrage and flipping products on eBay are the fastest and arguably the best for beginners.

This episode isn't going to have the focus on how to make money off eBay. Instead, it will explore the back story of Shane Myers who is a full-time reseller in a small town in Illinois with a population of about 2,500 people.

There shouldn't be an excuse for those who live in small towns or places where there are no thrift stores to source products from. Shane insists that there are no deep tactical strategies when it comes to retail arbitrage. Instead, it comes from a strong and persistent mindset that will eventually lead you to make a nice income.
