  • Episode 10: Doug Brekan

I worked with Doug Brekan for months before learning the guy had written and directed his own film here in Phoenix! What an idiot! But I got him to join me back at Chop Shop in Tempe to discuss the pros and cons of film school, why he lost faith in horror, and how low budgets lead to creative filmmaking.

Doug is currently writing the script for his nee film, Manic Monday, so look out for that in the future. In the meantime you can support his favorite local actress Leeann Dearing and the Dearing Acting Studio at dearingstudio.com

  • Bonus Interview: Melvin Marsh

Hey everybody! So throw out everything you believed about the podcast, because I had a chance to interview someone totally outside of the normal theme, and I thought it was a great time. And whenever I have a great time, I want to share it with you, baby.

Melvin Marsh is a hypnotherapist in Augusta, GA, and he took the time to chat with me over Skype about how he discovered hypnotherapy in med school, how being transgender helps with clients, and how he finished his statistics homework instead of telling his family he was about to have a baby..

You can learn more about Melvin at afterhourshypnotherapy.com or contact him directly at [email protected]

  • Episode 9: Chelsy Louise and Matthew Foos

It's two guests for the price of...zero, I guess. You shouldn't be paying for this podcast. You need to call the FCC or something.

Chelsy Louise and Matthew Foos from the fantastic local band Fairy Bones joined me back at the Tempe Chop Shop this week for some fun conversation.

They talk about their clashing musical influences, making videos on a budget, and the heated debate on musician ability vs instrument quality.

If you want to learn more, you can take their advice and GOOGLE Fairy Bones!

For more info on management, go to poorlifechoice.com

Also, Radiohead is re-releasing OK, Computer I guess.

Don't forget to subscribe and leave us a rating on Apple Podcasts(?), Facebook, Twitter, and Google Play.

  • Episode 8: Genevieve Rice

The absurdly funny comedian and podcast host Genevieve Rice joined me at 32 Shea for some drinks set to some theme music of blaring 90's jams and someone apparently hurling silverware at a stack of dishes for an hour.

But then we got down to talking about how to create your own huge comedy festival, how to navigate relationships with artists, and how good that show "Feud" is.

Genevieve is performing TONIGHT, May 10, at 8:00 PM at The Lounge in Phoenix. The show is $5 added to your delicious Italian meal. Location details at thelounge.social.

You can listen to Genevieve every week on her Golden Girls Podcast, Thank You For Being a Podcast, on iTunes or at thabkyouforbeingapodcast.libsyn.com
