  • (#9) Burnt out at age 27 she chose her own path - Interview with Laurel Attanasio

"Don't for a walk with Laurel, you might end up quitting your job!"

At a time in my life when I was lost and confused, Laurel brought a light for me. I met her through my former job because we are graduates of the same college and we were planning an event together. Yet I knew after hearing just a tiny piece of her story I wanted to talk to her more. A nervous and scared me sent her an email asking if she had some time to chat non-event stuff. The kind soul she is, she invited me to her home and we went for a walk.

It was one of the first conversations I was brave enough to have that centered around my unhappiness with my job at the time. She listened, she told her story, and she offered advice. I knew when I started the podcast I knew I wanted Laurel to be on it. I hope you gain valuable insight and inspiration from our conversation!!!

Here is a little bit about what we talked about:

-She found herself burnt out at the age of 27
-Discovered yoga at this same time as a way to calm her body and mind
-Took her love of yoga and travel and combined them into the business she has today
-How valuable a supportive community will be to your well-being
-What it's like to go against the grain and forge your own path

You can learn more about Laurel and her yoga adventures at https://laurelattanasio.com/

You can follow her on Instagram at @laurelattanasio - https://instagram.com/laurelattanasio/

  • (#8) The 5 steps to take action on the life you want

There is a difference between wishing for a certain life and desiring a certain life. For me that difference is that desire means I am willing to take the steps to make it happen, wishing means just that, I wish for it, but don't believe it can happen.

In the last year I have switched drastically from wishing to desiring, and have seen the subsequent results in my own life. I desired to start my own business, and here I am. This didn't happen by mistake, or dumb luck, this happened because I desired it so badly that I took the steps, no matter how tiny they were, to get here.

There is common theme I see when listening and learning from others who teach how to manifest, or to make your desires come to life. I compiled those 5 steps and put them together here for you.

    The 5 steps are:

    1) Decide what it is you want
    2) Visualize yourself as though you already have it
    3) Describe how this version of you who already has it thinks, acts and feels
    4) Think about what you can do today to think, act and feel as that version of you who has what you want
    4) Take action!

The final step is the most important and is what makes the difference between wishing and desiring. No matter how tiny the action just take it!

  • (#7) From restaurant manager to network marketing and now living her best life with Jules Kilker
I met Jules when I joined joined network marketing and she has been a breath of fresh air ever since! She has a kind heart with a true desire to serve others through the business and inspiring healthy living.
She started her career as a restaurant manager working all sorts of crazy hours, living the restaurant life which found her in a not so healthy place. She switched gears and rekindled her lost relationship with health and fitness to become a personal trainer. She then found herself working so hard for her clients that she was neglecting her own health. She joined the Juice Plus Company and was working the business on the side. Then when her first son was born she knew she couldn't return to teaching 30+ fitness classes a week and training clients from sun-up to sun-down. She decided to take network marketing full-time and in less than 3 years was able to cut back her fitness classes, and today just 5 years later is teaching only 1 class a week because she enjoys it!
She is a full-time mom to 3 beautiful children, all under the age of 5, married to a supportive husband, and works her business from her home in her own time. She is a self-proclaimed gypsy soul who continued to push until she found a career that worked for her and her family.

  • (#6) You can change your life with your thoughts
'If your life is not what you want it to be, you can change it." - Napoleon Hill
We do have control over our thoughts. Whether you believe this or not, it is true. You can choose to think about life negatively or positively. No matter which way you choose, it will affect your circumstances in life.
It may sound woo-woo and you may not believe me, but after watching a man from 1954 talk about using your thoughts to change your life I just had to share it with you. Back in 1954 Napoleon Hill, the author of "Think and Grow Rich", did a 13 episode series where he shared his knowledge on success and how to be successful. The video series is available on Amazon Prime and if you choose to watch it please understand it was filmed in 1954 and there may be things you don't agree with, but listen to the overall principles and what he's teaching.
In this podcast I'm sharing with you the 6 keys to using applied faith to change your life. For me when he says faith I take it as setting intentions, believing it can happen, and then taking massive action.
If you like this episode please share it with someone you know, and take a moment to rate and review this podcast. I greatly appreciate you being here and listening!!

  • (#5) Being aligned in your life and work with Erin Miller
I am so excited to share this interview with my dear friend Erin Miller of Erin Joyce Photography. Erin and I met when our now 5 year olds were just infants and we immediately connected!
The summer before having her daughter Erin's husband bought her a camera that she has always wanted, but never bought for herself. With this gift she was able to tap into her creativity that she lost as an adult. After having her daughter she knew that returning to work as a school counselor wasn't going to serve her, but she never intended to become a photographer.
She followed her intuition, and was granted a 1 year leave from her full-time job. During this time she explored photography more and at the end of that year she left her full-time job as a school counselor and entered into full-time photography.
Today she is a wedding and documentary photographer, and has recently branched her business into the coaching arena. After battling severe anxiety and coming out the other end she shares her story and what she has learned with other women because she wants to be there for them and show them there is a better way to live life. As a student of her program I can tell you it works and what she teaches has been monumental in helping me in the adjustment to being an entrepreneur.
Erin shares her story of becoming an entrepreneur and listening to her intuition even when it scared her.

  • (#4) The struggle of the working woman
Our society today doesn't support the working woman. We are comprising our values and dying inside. We are looking for purpose and passion in our work, but are having trouble finding it, or even thinking it's possible. Having a dual household income is a necessity in our world, and many women are getting married later in life so they must support themselves. What happens when we give up our values for a paycheck and simply live to get paid and wait for retirement to finally be able to live.
I don't believe we need to wait, and I was tired of fighting an uphill battle feeling like an outsider. That is until I found other women who felt the same way I do. I realized I am not alone, and neither are you.
The solution is diving deep into ourselves and finding what we value in life, then visualizing the life we want, and then taking the first baby step to make it happen.
This is why I created my online group coaching program, Stepping Up: Become Who You Are Meant To Be. I will use the same processes I did to help you discover yourself and begin to live your dream life one baby step at a time.

  • (#3) Taking time to be still
"It's often in the absence of sound that we hear the most." - Danny Bader
In our busy world we rarely take time to just be still, but it's those moments of stillness where we gain the most clarity. Taking time to simply be still whether that's meditation, a quiet walk or simply sitting in silence with no distractions on a daily basis will change your life.
Today Nikki is encouraging to take those moments and enjoy them. To be still, be present and to listen.

  • (#2) Learning to live in abundance
Living in abundance and truly living an abundant life is very tough, but it is a crucial part of finding your happiness. Being grateful for all that you have in this very moment, even when it doesn't feel like much is difficult. Changing your mindset to say "I'm thankful for..." rather than "I wish I had..." requires work. This is what Nikki is talking about today. She is working through her own money story and learning to live in abundance and gratitude even in times when there's concern about bills being paid.
