Full Hour | In today’s second hour, Dom welcomes in Fox29 Reporter Steve Keeley for some information on stories developing throughout Philadelphia. First, Dom asks Keeley for an update on something he tweeted minutes prior to the interview, with Keeley explaining a win by the City against the Philadelphia FOP that moves to allow many Philadelphia Police jobs to be held by civilians rather than officers. Keeley offers up the City’s argument that the addition of civilians allows non-officers to take over duties done by police officers that keep them off the streets fighting crime. Keeley, as he always does, offers all sides of the story though, telling about the negative response of police officers and the implications this has on both the profession and the FOP Union. Also, Keeley provides an update on the City report of a bus of migrants coming to Philadelphia, telling that he reached out to Gov. Abbott’s office to find out that the bus did not originate from the Texas Governor’s office.
Then, Dom welcomes FOP Lodge 5 President John McNesby back onto the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the contract negotiations with the City that led to a decision that he believes truly benefits the police union, adding more money to the pockets of active members on the force. The decision, Dom warns though, also comes with an edict that replaces some uniformed officers with citizens, which McNesby says is an acceptable bargain to further the needs of those in the Union ranks. Also, McNesby comments on the ongoing push by State lawmakers to impeach Larry Krasner, and tells what he hopes to hear from an incoming Mayor of Philadelphia.
