Steve Northcott is a ten-time NFR qualifier, two-time NFR average winner, and the World Champion Heeler in 1996. Steve is a legend of the sport and got to rope behind some of the most significant headers of his time like Charles Pogue and Steve Purcella.

He is still very invested in the team roping world, but now from the sidelines watching his son Nicky make a name for himself with his recent win at the LoneStar Shootout where he and two-time World Champion header Kaleb Driggers bested the field and split $60,000 and took home new horse trailers.

It was great to hear Steve's perspective on where the sport was when he was competing to where it is now and what contributed to the changes we've seen over the years.
