Last week news broke that streaming giant Netflix has acquired the rights to the full back catalogue of the works of 20th Century author Roald Dahl. It had to spend a huge amount of cash to get the Roald Dahl Story Company, and Netflix has committed to a production budget of over one billion dollars to create series and one off productions out of Dahl's stories. It's the latest in a series of big scale "content" acquisitions in the fierce competition between streaming services. To try and figure out what is going on, and what this might mean for what turns up on our screens, I'm joined by Tamaki-Makaurau based director and producer Amanda Robinson.
