Maria is the daughter of Mexican immigrants who came to America carrying little more than the hope for a new life and their unbeatable work ethic. Thanks to Maria's discipline and her parents' support, she graduated in Political Science from Loyola Marymount University and got a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School. Following her passion for criminal justice, Maria joined the District Attorney's Office in 1990, and for the last three decades, she has dedicated her life to advocating for all victims of crimes and prosecuting gang violence and drug trafficking.
