The Extraordinary Educators Podcast

Student-Centered Learning with Jeannette Milburn

Listen Later

Jeannette Milburn, a sixth grade math teacher from Maryland, joins the first episode of the new season to share all about her love for student-centered learning! Jeannette starts off by talking about how she first became interested in student-centered learning, and how it has evolved for her over the course of her career in education. She then describes what it looks like in her classroom, focusing on what students are doing and what she, as the teacher, is doing. Jeannette goes on to share how she has made student-centered learning work for her middle school classroom – especially in terms of getting to know her students from day one. She wraps up with some great advice for teachers everywhere!
