A federal judge sentenced former California state senator Leland Yee (D) on Wednesday to five years in prison after he acknowledged accepting thousands of dollars in bribes and discussing helping an undercover FBI agent buy automatic weapons from the Philippines.

The daughter of a militia member was shot and wounded Sunday after a local meeting of the III% Idaho group.

The 12-year-old girl, whose name was not released, was taken by helicopter to a hospital for treatment after the shooting at the Rupert Gun Range, reported the Twin Falls Times-News.

Her mother said the girl was in stable condition Monday morning, and the shooting remains under investigation.

It’s not clear who was handling the weapon when it fired, wounding the girl.

A pair of would-be liquor store robbers in Tampa Bay attempted to target the wrong man.

One of two men attempting to rob a Tampa liquor store was shot to death in an exchange of gunfire with the clerk late Sunday, police said.

Cody Bolesta, 20, was found fatally shot on the sidewalk near Cut Rate Liquors, at 3312 N. 15th St., in the V.M. Ybor neighborhood, police said.

Detectives are working to track down the other suspect, who fled the scene.

The store employee, a 57-year-old man, was not injured.

From their fingertips to their elbows, their arms are heavily wrapped in bandages to cover the wounds they received when a man armed with a machete attacked them and others at a Northeast Side restaurant on Thursday night.

But the high-school sweethearts, both 43 and married for nearly 25 years, weren’t allowing their injuries to spoil the romance of the day.
