Sudden but Inevitable

The SBI Crew is joined by returning Season 1 guest Cameron Harrison of Green Shirt - A Newbie's Trek Through the Next Generation to discuss the creepy cyberpunk cult of Brain Scratch and the absolute ocean of emotion that is Hard Luck Woman! Kylie is back and ready to give us all the session details, while Josh recounts the time he was accidentally left in a store while reading Nintendo Power. Ricky D also shares some insight about his connection to the series thus far, and the Cap'n starts to see the end of the fast ride that has been Season 2 of SBI.

This week, Kylie takes the night off paid, leaving the rest of the crew to discuss Boogie Woogie Feng Shui and Cowboy Funk. Ricky D takes the opportunity to continue both his blue streak and his emotional outbursts from the week prior, while the Cap'n assures us that he hasn't yet reached middle age. Josh also discusses the feeling of having your Son of a Gun soup and eating it, too!

This week, not even Wild Horses or Pierrot Le Fou can drag us away from talkin' Bebop! The Cap'n finds an opportunity to drop more Star Trek references than ever before, much to the chagrin of Ricky D. The crew also discusses their favorite space pirates throughout popular culture, while Josh presents a "tumbling through the atmosphere" hot take during our rating segment. Finally, despite our best efforts, Kylie continues to display her trademark insensitivity.

We're back from a successful #TMAPodCon21 to our regularly scheduled Bebop, and that means it's time to micro-dose some Mushroom Samba and then try to find a Beta deck to watch Speak Like a Child. Josh is back and he talks a little bit about his "life on the streets", while Kylie and he debate whether or not Spike is "vanilla af" in bed. Ricky D and the Cap'n discuss their recent (upcoming) guest appearance on Bed, Wed, or Behead, and load some very large weapons while giving their episode ratings.

We bring a brand new anime-resistant first-timer through the first two episodes of Cowboy Bebop this week - and she just so happens to be married to the Captain! Ricky D also examines his newly receptive attitude to the world of anime, and we take the time to give him some suggestions as to what he should watch next. Don't worry folks, next week it's back to our regularly scheduled Bebop!

We are back to cover two more sessions of our favorite 90s space-western anime, and this week is full of backstory with My Funny Valentine and Black Dog Serenade! Josh realizes that maybe he likes episodic TV after all, while Kylie defends her ATLA opinion from a mildly riled Captain. Ricky D has some plans mercifully cancelled, and we are finally joined by our friend Pixie of Next on Stage One!

All shined up from our visit with the California Browncoats for SDCC@Home, we dove right into our discussion of Bohemian Rhapsody! Josh recounts the time he encountered a roving chess gang, at which point Kylie and Ricky D take turns challenging him to a match! Our Captain also stumbles handsomely into one of the most "grown-up" discussion topics we've entertained yet. Oh and hey, if you're interested, we've got some choice threads for your next shindig available these days!

Vicious is back, and just as Sephiroth-y as ever this week as we discuss Jupiter Jazz Parts I and II. Josh finally gets some of that sweet, sweet serialization that he so desperately craves, while Ricky D explains the parameters of "aggressive cuddles" and then some real-world science (no, seriously)! Kylie, ever the adult in the room, reminds us that some of what Faye experiences in these episodes is very relatable.

Talkin' about two episodes of high-quality space western per week can be exhausting, and if not properly planned could lead to the improper scheduling of two-part episodes. But fear not! We've done it properly here at SBI, and that means that this week we are only covering Toys in the Attic. Kylie provides some fun insight regarding the session's title as always, while Josh finds out that of all the things to bother him, bottle episodes are apparently high on the list. Ricky D wrestles with some real emotions knowing that Ein is in danger, and our Captain presides over a double space-birthday!

This week, the crew finally meets Radical Edward! Fear not, for Ricky D asks a very fair question regarding Ed's gender to clear up any confusion almost immediately. Josh informs everyone of his graduation to something called "boy pants," and Kylie does her best to keep the rest of the crew from singing Led Zeppelin while she shares some fun facts about Ganymede Elegy!
