As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, we also realize the inevitability of the cross. This message of the Gospel, however, is rejected by much of the world. So, why is it that people don’t turn to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior?

On Christmas Eve, our "Old Fashioned Christmas" services included a brief Christmas message from Pastor Dan Miller as we celebrated the birth of Jesus together on that special night.

Centuries ago, Martin Luther was transformed by the simple truth of the Gospel that “the just shall live by faith.” Luther’s sermon from the 1500’s was not only relevant then, but is still relevant today. We also need to be reminded about worshiping Christ during this Christmas season.

Born in 1893 in Boston, Massachusetts, Walter Maier became a renown radio personality, public speaker, and author who was passionate about the gospel. In this Christmas message, he focused on the names given to Jesus by the prophet Isaiah, hundreds of years before the actual birth of Christ.

Dwight L. Moody was born in 1837. He was a Christian evangelist, preacher, and publisher. He was one of the most influencial evangelists of the 19th century, not just in America, but all over the world. His sermon "No Room for Jesus" was published in 1937, years after His death, but it's actual date preached is unknown.

The underlying theme of the message is perhaps even more important today...in a world so consumed with itself...in an overloaded holiday season...will YOU make room for Jesus?

In our fast-paced society, waiting can be extremely difficult. But in order to truly enjoy the end result of our efforts, waiting is essential. So it is with the Gospel. Waiting for and experiencing the arrival of Jesus is at the core of not only the Christmas season, but the Christian life.

Every year at Christmas, we sing some of our favorite songs about the birth of our Savior. We love these songs, but we may not be aware of the rich history and theology behind them. Each week in December, we will visit the meaning and history behind on of these hymns.

We were created in the image of God, so we should be a reflection of Him. The enemy knows this, and that makes us His primary target to try and destroy and distort God's image. The lies the enemy wants us to believe about ourselves are made to keep God from receiving the glory that we were meant to give Him.

The devil wants you to believe lies about the church that simply aren't true. You see, God established the local church to be a place of support and encouragement for you as you live out your faith.

The enemy wants you week and disconnected from other Christians. God wants you strong, and wants the church [the people] to show others the way to Him!

Forgiveness is a BIG issue: we all in need of forgiveness, and we all have to forgive others. So it is no wonder that the enemy tries to muddy the water with half truths and lies. While the enemy wants to trip us up and leave us in a mess, God's truth about forgiveness brings freedom and peace.
