Do we as modern day Christians act selfishly in pursuit of our plan, like what Abraham and Sarah did, and in so doing, make others view us or God in a terrible way? The answer; Yes! But again, this is why we have the story of Hagar.

Our faith in Jesus (God Almighty) should lead all of us to trust in Him in demonstrative ways. That was one of the primary points James, the brother Jesus, made to the church.

Moses wanted everyone to know that Elohim, the masculine plural God who created all things and sustains all things, is named Yahweh, and that He eternally exists. And more than anything else, Moses wanted everyone to know that God made all things just to enjoy a relationship with those created in His image. And when you read the Bible through, it’s clear that Jesus is indeed our Elohim and Yahweh, and that He still wants to enjoy a relationship with us.

Last week we focused on partnership in the church, but today we’re zooming in on what that means financially. In Paul’s letter to the Corinthian’s, he mentions Jesus’ invitation to be partners. But because most of them were Jewish converts, they understood what a “financial partnership” meant...

Are you a partner?

Even though many of us have faith in God’s existence, trusting in His awesome creative power is hard when facing hard or painful situations in life. We need to have faith in Him even when things are at their worst. (John 14:1)

For Onesimus, coming to faith in Christ was the beginning of a long work to change his reputation, and the same should be true for many of us. God doesn’t want us to focus only on “working things out” with Him. He wants us to go first to others and pursue forgiveness and restoration with them, then come to Him to “work things out".

The truth is, all of us should be aware of our role as Gods ambassador to others. Regardless of who we are or where we work. In fact, what our world needs most are those who consider themselves workplace missionaries. 

One of the most important things we can do as followers of Christ, is always be considerate of those around us who aren’t believers.
