Families who've suffered heartbreak due to the actions of young offenders are begging the Queensland government to adopt tougher legislation. The proposed "Vyleen's Law" named after 70-year-old grandmother Vyleen White would make the punishments for youth crime similar to those for adults. The campaign follows the success of "Jack's Law", which allows police to use metal-detecting wands in certain areas. It's led to the seizure of more than 500 weapons in the year since it was introduced.
