If you're like me you've read the Bible and you've done Bible studies, but you wonder how people take notes and study the Bible without any direction.
Today Felicity walks me through how she has learned to study the Bible. For reference, I'm going to include the notes I took during this conversation. These are now written in the back of my Bible to help guide me through future studies.
"What is happening?" Take the time to jot an outline as you go to help you slow down and focus on each piece.
Pick out repeated words
"How does this tie to the Old Testament?"
"What makes me uncomfortable?"
Homeschool questions that Elizabeth uses with her kids but realized would help with Bible study.
"What is the 'so what' for my life?"
"What is the 'so what' for an unbeliever?"
You can find Felicity's podcast "Two sisters and a cup of tea" linked. Or follow her on social media HERE

Have you noticed a difference between non-fiction devotionals and Bible study books that really help you dig in and study the Word of God? My guest, Lydia, is an editor for Crossway and has worked on several Bible study projects. She lays out how she sees the two to be distinct and how realizing how few there are inspired her to write her own studies.
You can find Lydia HERE, and her study on Ephesians HERE if you want to dig in and dig deeper yourself!

In our episode a couple of weeks ago Jen Wilkin shared with us that 43% of Christians believe that Jesus was just a good teacher and not God. Today you get to join us a living room theological conversation. Courtney, Joanna, and I are going to talk about how scripture shows how Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament prophecy. Knowing these things intimately will help us cause us to grow and live out resulting in evangelization.

As we walk through a broken world it is easy to feel alone and disconnected from hope. We get lost and trapped in a hopeless cycle of comparing our difficult circumstances to the journeys of others. Today I’m talking to Ruth Chou Simons about how to find hope as we navigate our walk through the already not yet promise of the gospel.

As we head into an election year it seems like everyone loses their mind. Fights break out more easily even among people who usually get along. How as Christians do we navigate national sin, and people co-opting the Bible for their own agenda? Be sure to listen to the end as Kaitlyn and I brainstorm good questions to ask when discussing heated topics.

We all come to our relationships with the experiences that happened in our past, and also the things that have happened to our spouse. Maybe we see how those situations affect us and our marriage or perhaps we are unaware. Today Ike and I are talking about the baggage we bring to relationships. Not as a way to berate ourselves or our partner, but to lean into the tools our past has given to us, and heal from the places that that are causing continued cycles of struggle.
