Supernatural Opinions

KJ and Meredith are joined by returning guest, Jenn! This week we’re getting acquainted with Cas’s vessel, Jimmy Novak. It’s Jenn’s first time watching this episode and she really loved it, so we have a lot to discuss. KJ wants to know where the heck Ruby is in this time of angel-demon crisis? And the team workshops some gear that would do big business in the demon-hunting world.
CW Episode Description: Castiel (guest star Misha Collins) appears to Dean in a dream and says he has something important to tell him but they need to meet somewhere private. Dean and Sam go searching for Castiel but instead find Jimmy, Castiel's human vessel, who has only a spotty recollection of being an angel. Jimmy wants to return to his family and normal life, but Dean and Sam are concerned about his safety.

KJ and Meredith are talking with Cas-Expert Ella (The Cas Cast), in this mostly Cas-free episode. KJ has come prepared with all of the math around John Winchester’s whereabouts (spoilers, we continue to find things to hate about John Winchester). Meredith gives us a rundown on ghoul lore, and questions the purpose of the huge vent in the Milligan house. Ella relishes in the family dynamics this episode brings us. KJ accuses Sam of revisionist history and spoils season 4 of Charmed (1998)
CW Episode Description: A 19-year-old boy named Adam (guest star Jake Abel) calls Sam and Dean looking for John Winchester, claiming to be his son. Dean and Sam meet Adam, assuming he's a demon trying to lure them into a trap. However, they find out that John was indeed the boy's father and Adam tells them of his "normal" upbringing, which infuriates Dean.

KJ and Meredith are joined by Moira and Alyssa this week as Sam and Dean learn the disturbing news that their lives have been turned into a series of books- and even worse, they’re in the bargain bin and the publishing deal’s been revoked! KJ is demanding more information about an Archangel v. Lilith showdown, Meredith’s educating us about prophets, and the whole crew is asking- what would your reaction be to finding out your friends’ whole lives (even the VERY PRIVATE bits) are out there and on the page?
CW Episode Description: Sam and Dean are shocked to discover a series of comic books titled "Supernatural" that accurately detail their lives as demon hunters. They track down the writer, Carver Edlund (guest star Rob Benedict), who explains he has visions of the brothers that he then turns into comic books. Chuck reveals that Lilith (guest star Katherine Boecher) is coming and she has a plan for Sam.

KJ and Meredith are joined by August (of Saving People, Queering Things) and Sarah (sometimes of Raising Perdition) for max Pod Squad crossover energy. This week Sam and Dean are living through an Office AU, where some Choices(TM) have been made about their personalities. Everyone’s in agreement on one thing in this episode, and that’s that you should not watch adult videos at work. Just don’t do it. This episode really gets into who Sam and Dean are at their core, and as you can imagine, our guests have a lot to say on that topic, plus, there’s a new angel in the garrison and Dean already hates him

CW Episode Description: Dean and Sam are living very normal and separate lives. Dean is a corporate man who enjoys health drinks and listens to news radio vs. rock stations. He works at a company called Sandover Bridge & Iron Company alongside Sam (Jared Padalecki) who is in Tech Support. It seems as if the two do not know each other. However, after co-workers start committing suicide at an alarming rate, the two find themselves working side by side to solve the murders.

KJ and Meredith are joined by Sandra and Kasey, the hosts of Idling In The Impala, to be Sam’s defense team in this week’s episode. They lay out each alleged crime and mistake of Sam’s and then all the reasons why Sam was actually right or not at fault. It’s a good week for the Sam stans in our audience. This one probably should’ve been named for the Trolley Problem, but we already did that in season 3… so we are sticking with that court theme.

KJ and Meredith are joined by Ella (The Cas Cast) for this heavy-hitting episode. Sam, Dean, and Cas each have their own storylines, a frightening glimpse into the future of Supernatural and the task ahead of this podcast. There’s big news about Sam’s extracurriculars this week, leading to a serious conversation around the impact of hosting a demon on the vessel and the composition of demon blood. KJ would like to study the relationship between people who separate the Winchesters and imminent death. Ella wonders if demons are consuming a lot of media. Editing Noah makes a cameo!
CW Episode Description: Someone found Lucifer's sword and is using it to kill angels. Castiel (guest star Misha Collins) and Uriel (guest star Robert Wisdom) have captured Alastair (guest star Christopher Heyerdahl) and ask Dean to use the torturing skills he learned in Hell to extract information from him so they can stop the murders. Sam is concerned Dean can't handle the job but Dean agrees to do it. However, when Alastair reveals some shocking information, Dean's world is shattered.

KJ, August (Saving People, Queering Things), and Alyssa don’t get a holiday in this episode, but they do get to to recap this episode of Supernatural. KJ takes a hard stance on a hard truth about Dean, everyone forgets one of the key plots of this episode, and Pamela is dubbed an icon in her final episode.
CW Episode Description: Sam and Dean investigate a small town where people are cheating death. They discover the Reapers have gone missing so they turn to Pamela (guest star Traci Dinwiddie) for help. She sends them into the spiritual world to find answers and they come face to face with Alastair (guest star Christopher Heyerdahl), who has been kidnapping all the Reapers in order to break another seal.

In celebration of 100 recordings, 100 edits, and 100 of everything else it takes to put together a podcast episode, KJ and Meredith open the doors on their friendship origin story, answer some AMA questions, KJ comes clean about some secret shipping (not clickbait!), and KJ pitches some of her other hyper fixation shows to Meredith as potential future podcasts. And followed up with about 30 minutes of content cut from some of the earliest episodes of the show!

Sex and Violence experts Beth and Hannah, along with their Raising Perdition co-host Abby Jo, help KJ and Meredith through this week’s episode where the doctor/coroner is an alcoholic, the siren is Judd from 9-1-1: Lone Star, and there’s uproar over censorship and a passionate plea to let Sam get laid, just not in this particular episode. In a shocking twist of fate, the squad favorably compares John Winchester to some of the spousal, parenting, and finance choices of this week’s victims.
CW Episode Description: Sam and Dean enter a small town in Iowa, where three men have inexplicably beaten their wives to death. The guys realize that behind the murders is a Siren, a creature that can take different forms and desperately needs love and compels people to destroy themselves as a show of devotion. The Siren eventually puts Sam and Dean under their spell and pits the two brothers against each other in a fight to the death.

While KJ and Meredith met in school, you couldn’t pay them to go back there now. And yet, that’s what Sam and Dean are doing this week, so we’re bringing our guest Frances along for the ride and hoping for the best. KJ revels in some Sam comment, but admits that having Sam content at the expense of Dean’s character assassination might be too high a cost. KJ and Meredith try pitifully to identify the contents of geometry set.
CW Episode Description: Sam and Dean go undercover to investigate a string of murders at their old high school. The case causes them to flashback to their time there recalling how Sam was picked on by the school bully while Dean was Mr. Popular.
