Hello Everyone,  

Welcome to our 2nd video, and podcast, on Mental Health, this week.  

In this segment, I'll be sharing 4 attitudes and mindsets that enable you to make peace with stillness. More specifically, the period of time between action and reaction.  

We too often are stricken with anxiety after having completed an action, unsure of what the response will be. Here are different values of mine that have helped me embrace the stillness and have confidence that my actions served and will continue to serve their purpose: getting me the right answer - even if that answer  might initially prove disappointing.  

All things happen for a reason and it's important to minimize the amount of energy that we allow anxiety to steal away from us. Here's to diminishing the power of anxious thinking and to embrace peace, in any way that we can

This video focuses on how to manage our ego, in order to stay connected to our higher selves.  

I kick off this segment with an apology, because I believe my ego got ahead of me in our last video. 

Then of course, we segue into 5 of the ways that we sometimes allow the ego to get in our own way, even with the best of intentions.  

Life is a journey and all the experiences therein have value. If we focus on how we can learn, and how we can grow, the results involve both #growth and #evolution. While I list off five of my personal favourites, would love to hear the ways you keep your ego in check, and stay connected to your higher self.

Hello Everyone,  Welcome to our 2nd video, and podcast, on Education this week.  

This discussion is a focus on navigating conversations, with both educators and mental health practitioners, concerning your children 's mental health and well-being.  

It's important that each of us cultivate the tools to effectively communicate on behalf of children, whose mental health might be called into question by educators and practitioners, who may be well meaning, though out of line. 

In these trying times, everyone's mental health has been an area of active focus, as we are all figuring out how best to adapt. While it's great that we can have open discussions regarding our mental health and mental well-being, that doesn't change the fact that these conversations and any disclosures are still very personal.   

Establishing boundaries, and knowing when and how to limit intrusive rhetoric, when it comes to the subject of your or your child's mental health is crucial.

Hello Everyone,  

Welcome to our video on Education this week.  

This week we are going to open up a broader discussion on the relationship that has developed between our Educational System and Mental Health.  

More specifically, how the majority of mental health issues develop or are pinpointed within a classroom setting. 

Even more specifically, how children as young as 6 (and sometimes younger), are introduced to their first prescription drug because an educator decided that their behaviour is ill-suited for a classroom environment.  

As such, many adults today have cultivated lifelong prescription dependencies as a result of their inability to conform to a classroom setting. This is a huge point of contention for me, and I hope, once you review the research, you'll see why. We will be doing a series of videos during our week on Education to properly address all the reasons why we need to create more distance between the Educational and Mental Health spheres within our societies.

 Hello Everyone,  Video #2 and Podcast #2 on Mental Wellness addresses not being okay.  

We love to tell people that, "It's okay to not be okay," but often we fail to provide people the space and the permission to not be okay in our presence.  

While the pain and suffering of others can be uncomfortable and unsettling, it really isn't about us. If people choose us to be vulnerable with, the only thing we need to do is show up and be present for them. Often times we avoid people who are going through challenging situations because we aren't quite sure how to support them - I'm here to say, just being available is enough.  Community means showing up for one another in the good and in the tough times. That doesn't mean always having the answers or coming up with the solutions. So, for those of you who want to put your words into action, give people permission to not be okay around you, without feeling uncomfortable, or even making the effort to manage your personal discomfort about it.

Hello Everyone,  

This week we are covering Mental Wellness, and I wanted to kick off this beautiful spring weather by talking about body positivity.  

This Spring/Summer season, let's be kind to ourselves when we look in the mirror. This discussion reflects on how the beauty standard makes it hard for anyone to feel as though they live up to the "ideal."  Even those who do, the pressure to maintain that image can lead to some of the unhealthy habits. All in all, no one wins until the standard itself is removed. 

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and it cannot be objectively defined by societal or cultural norms.   

All of us have features and traits that tell a story, that reflect a history in continuation. It's about time that we embrace our physical individuality and recognize that all that makes us different, was always worthy of celebration.
