Dr. Craig Pearson was born in Port Elizabeth, on the southeast coast of South Africa. He attended high school at Woodridge College, graduating in 1983. Following graduation, he traveled to New Zealand for a year on Rotary Youth Exchange. Returning to South Africa he attended the University of Port Elizabeth and graduated in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree, majoring in Chemistry and Biochemistry. In 1988, he completed an honors degree in Organic Chemistry.
Dr. Pearson served in the South African Air Force for two years, attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant.
Following three years in the workforce as a chemist, Dr. Pearson moved to Davenport, Iowa to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic. He graduated with a doctorate in chiropractic, magna cum laude, in 1997. He is a member of Pi Tau Delta chiropractic academic fraternity.
Dr. Pearson has an advanced certification in Whiplash Trauma from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego and uses chiropractic techniques taught at Palmer College, however, there is an emphasis on Sacro-Occipital Technic™– SOT® taught by Sacro-Occipital Research Society International, SORSI. Dr. Pearson was President of SORSI in 2013, and is now a Certified Craniopath (CC.)
Dr. Pearson loves animals and respects their inherent intelligence. He became certified with the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA.) In his early years of practice, he adjusted horses and dogs. He no longer maintains a separate license in Colorado. His English bull terrier, Yezi, has joined him at the office every day for the last 11 years.
Dr. Pearson has served on the Colorado Chiropractic Association (CCA) board 10 of the past 14 years, more recently a 6-year stint, covering positions from District Director to Board President in 2021. During that time he has received multiple CCA awards, including Chiropractor of the Year (2020) and Committee Member of the Year (2022) as Chair of the Legislative Committee. Dr. Pearson is no longer on the board of the CCA, but will continue to serve as the Chair of CCA’s Legislative Committee working with local legislators to improve the position of chiropractic in the state.
Dr. Pearson is now a U.S. citizen and he and his wife of 26 years, Claire, have made Boulder County their home. Dr. Pearson has practiced in Boulder since 1997.
Dr. Pearson has been an active member of the Boulder Valley Rotary Club since 1998 and served two terms on the Board and as President in the Rotary year 2015/16. He received the Rotarian of the Year award in 2002. During his time with Rotary, Dr. Pearson has presented on the failure of the 'eradicate polio' campaign and why it should be stopped.
Dr. Pearson has also presented on ‘Thyroid health and Chiropractic’ in the US and UK.
