After Chris’ usual milk market report, flying solo this week, Ben is joined by Brian Lindsay, the Sustainability Lead at Global Dairy Platform and Director of Dairy Sustainability Framework & John Allen, Director with Kite to discuss sustainability and Dairy priorities around the world. Returning from a recent trip to the US at the IDF World Dairy Summit, John and Brian discuss their key take homes, summarising the differences between US and EU sustainability plans, government priorities and support, as well as the need to widen narrative on the benefits of dairy, especially in terms of nutrition and food security. Brian also outlines the objectives of the Dairy Sustainability Framework which aims to build the narrative on the continuous sustainability improvement of the global dairy sector and discusses with John, the different sustainability challenges and priorities faced elsewhere in the world, as well as what the European dairy sector can learn from these.
