This week, we're talking about our relationship with black history. More specifically, how we've felt like we were purposely miseducated in school about Black people, history and accomplishments and what the journey away from that has looked like (so far). We also talked about how much we don't know about ourselves as black people in America and what we're doing to try and close that gap.

This week, we're continuing a conversation we were having off the mic prior to deciding to record it. We were talking about intuition or gut feeling. How much does that play in decisions in your life? Is that even a thing anymore? We've both had times in the past when we've felt like we were lucky to get out of some situations that should've ended much differently, so we decided to talk about some of them.

This week, we're talking music. We were talking shortly before recording this episode about songs/albums that impacted us at different points in our lives. To help talk this out, we invited a fellow music head: Vernell aka Neltron3030. If you're into music, this one is for you.

This week, we're talking about the current unemployment situation playing out here in Atlanta (and across the country, we assume). We've noticed "now hiring" signs all over the metro area and saw those coupled with signs that businesses have placed in their windows to warn of slow service due to not being able to hire employees because "no one wants to work anymore". Apparently, businesses are blaming the stimulus payments on not being able to retain workers. So, we voiced our opinion on the subject...

This week, we decided to revisit an episode we did last year regarding the Coronavirus vaccine. At that time, we were both hesitant about getting a vaccine for various reasons. Fast forward to about a week ago...we got both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. Why? What changed? How is that working out for us? We discussed all of that plus some in this episode.

This week, we're talking politics. Apparently, Tim Scott, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden were all in the same American history class because they all agree that America isn't a racist country. We weren't in that class, so needless to say, we disagree...

This week, we're talking about Black Lives Matter, in a way. There was an article about one of the founders, Patrisse Cullors, that tried to insinuate some sort of fraud because she recently purchased a 1.4 million dollar home in CA. One of the main "points" made in the article was the fact that although she professed to love black people, she decided to move to a majority white neighborhood. Since we're personally going through the process of purchasing our next home, that kinda hit home, so we decided to talk about it.

This week, we're talking about what feels like the same subject every few months: Another black body being sent to the morgue by the police leaving more questions than answers. This time the victim is Daunte Wright and this time the cop is Kim Potter. This time, we'll get mad, we'll protest, we ask "What do we want?" and the answer will be "Justice" and then we'll ask "When do we want it"...But at what point does this get old? We just ended up venting on this one because we (like probably every other black person in America) are tired as hell of talking, thinking and even knowing about this.

This week, we're really just coming to terms with the fact that we've never felt like we fit in. Growing up and, even now, neither of us have felt like we fit in to the existing social structure and decided to discuss it.

So, we had a really short conversation about an article called "How Black People Can Be Strong Allies to Asian Americans Right Now"(Side note: WTF?!). The conversation basically consisted of acknowledging the existence of it, but no real conversation of substance because it ended up getting taken down(or modified)before either of us could actually read it. We talked a bit about the overall idea (and sheer audacity of the title), but nothing more...until Mia decides to record this episode a day or so after that initial conversation and bring it up on the mic.
