When Karen's first child was born she stopped breathing. Yes, she did survive—but it kept happening. Three years later they learned her daughter was missing a part of her brain that controlled breathing.

In his book "My steps to Sobriety" he shares the lessons he has learned as a doctor and as a man. And the truth is simple - The past does not equal the future. Stephan believes that it is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men. His creative partnership with Belinda Managh has led to the beautiful "Esmee the mindful mouse"-series, which addresses core beliefs that are laid down in early childhood.
