Hi friends! Aryel and I are talking about advocacy and how to advocate for yourself in the birth room. It can be intimidating to think about standing up for yourself, or declining procedures or interventions during pregnancy and birth. We chat about different ways you can do that and what can help make it a bit easier for you.
Here are some great resources you can read on to give you guys additional information:

Thanks for listening today! This is something that is very near and dear to my heart as I have struggled with body image issues for as long as I can remember. Here were the things that we mentioned that can ben helpful:
Reframe our expectations
Purchase new clothes that fit your body right now
Practice mindfulness based exercises like gratitude practices, journaling, breathwork, yoga, meditation
Being more present with your baby and children
Talking to a therapist or counselor
Unfollow those on social media that make you feel bad about yourself
Letters of gratitude for your body
Seek help from another professional who is knowledgeable in pregnancy and postpartum, personal trainers, nutrition coaches, health coaches.

Hi Everyone! Solo episode with just Brittany today, sorry it's been such a long time since we released an episode, lots of birth, babies, and boobies happening the past few weeks! I wanted to do a quick episode on nutrition in the fourth trimester. I cover nutrients to focus on, thinking about the 3 R's, replenish, recovery and repair, nutrients to focus on are bone broth, high quality fats, stinging nettle tea, hydration, soups and warm foods, making sure you are consuming enough calories. Also, remember that postpartum healing is not linear and embracing the change that motherhood creates in you. Sending you all love! For more head over to IG to find me @beyondthebumpcoaching, Aryel at @centralcoastlactation and the podcast at @slobirthcollective.
