  • The Infamous Island Death Match - Inoki vs Saito

The Island Death Match between Antonio Inoki and Masa Saito took place October 4, 1987 on Ganryujima, a tiny, uninhabited Japanese island. Journalist Fumi Saito and Wrestling Observer Live host Jim Valley (who also hosts the Pacific Rim Wrestling podcast) recount the circumstances surrounding the match, the events leading up to it, and what to expect if you actually want to check it out for yourself. Creem epitomized the sex, drugs and rock & roll culture of the music industry in the 70s, helped propel KISS to rock star status, counted Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop and Lou Reed as fans, and unleashed a wild and disruptive newsroom into the homes of obsessed teens every month! Legendary journalist Jaan Uhelszki, director Scott Crawford, and JJ Kramer (son of Creem founder Barry Kramer) pull back the curtain and take us between the pages of “Creem!”
