Talk of the Devils: The Athletic FC's Manchester United show

Logistics very nearly got the better of us but despite a dash to Euston after the penalties we do have a Wembley podcast for you with instant reaction to the win over Brighton from Ian Irving, Carl Anka, Andy Mitten (just about), and Laurie Whitwell.

It'd be fair to say this one wasn't a classic, but Victor Lindelof's winning penalty did set up the first ever all-Manchester FA Cup final, and a possible chance to deny City the treble...

Ian Irving, Andy Mitten, and Laurie Whitwell report on a disastrous night for Manchester United after they were dumped out of the UEFA Europa League in Seville.

The men will have to pick themselved up quickly to beat Brighton in Sunday's FA Cup semi-final; a feat already achieved by the women's team, who went on to beat Arsenal in the WSL on Wednesday night. Chelsea may yet pip them to the title, but they should now qualify for next season's Champions League.

It's a busy, busy Monday as Ian Irving, Andy Mitten, and Laurie Whitwell review a good win for the men at Forest, a ground-breaking victory for the women against Brighton, and update you all on takeover business before previewing the Europa League quarter-final second leg in Sevilla.

Enjoy our thoughts on Maguire reactionaries, magnificent midfield triumvirates, Skinner time, and failed Keylor Navas faxes... oh yeah, and lethal Antony.

Ian Irving hosts a slightly shell-shocked Europa League debrief with Carl Anka, Laurie Whitwell, and Andy Mitten.

Manchester United were 2-0 up after twenty minutes against relegation-threatened Sevilla, with the Spanish side naming some first-choice players on the bench. It was a golden opportunity to finish off the tie.

That the game finished level was largely down to an uncomfortably familiar frailty, the inability to maintain control, but it could also have been worse had de Gea not (again) made some crucial saves.

We're four-handed all week with Ian Irving, Andy Mitten, Laurie Whitwell, and Carl Anka meeting online this Monday before getting together at Old Trafford on Thursday.

There's an Everton debrief and a news round-up before we preview the reason for that in-person reunion; a Europa League quarter-final first leg against Sevilla. But, will the visitors play like the most successful team in Europa League history or La Liga relegation contenders?

Ian Irving, Laurie Whitwell, and Andy Mitten were relieved to see Manchester United win in the Premier League for the first time since February; who else but Marcus Rashford provided the winning goal after a neat header from the more-advanced Marcel Sabitzer.

Ten Hag's side will host Everton this Saturday lunchtime and while, league position says it will be a difficult place for them to get a result, they do have a surprisingly good record at Old Trafford in recent years.

Manchester United's away form continues to plumb new depths. Join Ian Irving, Andy Mitten, and Laurie Whitwell for the latest tale of woe, this time from Newcastle's St. James's Park.

More in hope, perhaps, than confidence, we try to brighten your Monday with news of another WSL win, progress with Luke Shaw's contract renewal, and a potential move for Harry Kane.

A full complement again as Ian Irving, Andy Mitten, Carl Anka, and Laurie Whitwell preview Manchester United's hectic April schedule, one they'll start without Casemiro away at Newcastle United.

And, there's a glance ahead to next season and the possibility that some established players may leave. Scott McTominay had a great week for Scotland, but would you keep him, and what about David de Gea?

It's a full house as Carl Anka, Andy Mitten, and Laurie Whitwell join Ian Irving for our second week of the international break.

Roughly 28,000 were at Old Trafford to see Manchester United WFC return to the top of the Women's Super League, and the title race is hotting up nicely!

As always, Manchester United's men had a host of players away on international duty, so we took some more of your questions, focussing on squad depth and fringe players.

Ian Irving brings you the latest on Manchester United's takeover talks with Andy Mitten and Laurie Whitwell, and while there was a bit of drama it felt more like Corrie than Dynasty.

And, with the international break this week, we asked for your questions about the club (and the podcast). There were so many good ones we'll be rolling it over to Monday, but we made a good start with answers on gaiju attack response, Indonesian rice wine, and Ljubljana to name a few!
