The lads are back at it with a super­sized trade dead­line pre­view episode in hon­our of the best tendy to don the num­ber 60 — José Théodore! He had some seri­ous­ly sick flow while patrolling between the pipes for the blanc, bleu et rouge — put up some great stats too and won a Hart, a Vez­i­na and a Mas­ter­ton for his trou­bles. He bounced around a bit towards the end, but still had sig­nif­i­cant stops in Col­orado and Wash­ing­ton, before stints in Min­neso­ta and Florida.

Next, we talk trade dead­line — who’s buy­ing , who’s sell­ing and what the heck are the Jets gonna do? We head down to the Bay for a two-fer on Chevy’s pants and each take a crack at mak­ing trades to improve the squad, none of which real­ly make any real­is­tic sense.

And then we give a recap on the final week­end of GHL action — play­off spots were decid­ed! Cap­tain Carter The Car Guy drops in with an in depth inter­view on how he’s got his squad mov­ing in the right direction!

He filled the net for the Ply­mouth Whalers, and he seemed to fol­low Peter Kar­manos Jr. wher­ev­er he went — that’s right, were back at it talk­ing about not­ed #59, the great Chad LaRose! Ol’ Rosie won a cup with Car­oli­na, where he spent the entire­ty of his career which spanned the years 2006 through 2013!

We recap an excit­ing con­clu­sion to the 4 Nations Cup and dis­cuss what we liked, and who impressed. We touch on some ear­ly thoughts about the 2026 Olympic ros­ter makeup!

We’re back on this frosty Louis Riel Day here in Win­nipeg, breakin’ our own rules with an episode we’re call­ing the Letang in hon­our of excel­lent Pen’s d‑man, Kris Letang. If you lis­ten­ers know of a retired num­ber 58 out there let us know, but we know that there aren’t many up to the snuff of ol’ Bang Bang, who’s made an excel­lent career of play­ing strong on all ends of the ice — he even has 3 (!! we checked !!) Cups for his troubles.

The we dive deep into the 4 Nations Cup — what’s worked, what has­n’t and why we care. Also, why is Matthew Tkachuk such an easy guy to hate? We’re record­ing as Cana­da plays Team Fin­land with a trip to the finals on the line…

Back at it again for anoth­er week, the lads cel­e­brate what we feel is the log­i­cal choice for #57 — Mr. Steven Heinze! He plied his trade for the Bru­ins for 9 years, before fin­ish­ing with stints in Colum­bus, Buf­fa­lo and LA. Leg­end has it that noto­ri­ous hater of fun Har­ry Sin­den refused to let Heinze wear #57 while with Boston, depriv­ing us of an icon­ic no-brain­er — remem­ber kids, it’s Heinze and there are no oth­er kinds!

Then we talk about the league wide shut down for the inau­gur­al Four Nations Cup, which kicks off with Cana­da fac­ing Swe­den on Feb­ru­ary 12th. We talk ini­tial line pair­ings for Cana­da and the US, and spec­u­late who’s going to car­ry the weight between the pipes for the mighty maple leaf!

We wrap up with some Jet’s talk — they’re pret­ty good eh?! Then we talk Apuck­a­lypse and a lit­tle Garage League action…

It’s that time again friends — that’s right, we’re back with episode 16, #56 — the Zubov! I bet you did­n’t know that stel­lar hall of fame defense­man Sergei Zubov, and 3 of his team­mates on the 1994 Rangers squad, were the first Russ­ian born play­ers to have their names etched on Lord Stan­ley’s cup! Word is he also liked to smoke a dart or two between peri­ods — pret­ty hard­core, don’t ya think?

Then, we’re joined by a cou­ple of real beau­ties — Jen Glen­wright and Dan Emberg, who are part of the orga­niz­ing com­mit­tee for one of our favourite events of the year — APUCK­A­LYPSE NOW! This great ODR tour­ney is back for it’s 13th edi­tion and will once again take place at Bourke­vale Com­mu­ni­ty Cen­tre. We give you the full run­down — the his­to­ry, the hijinks and the sto­ries of great cama­raderie, plus we touch on this year’s spooooooooooooky theme! It’s a great inter­view and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

The boys are back at it with our last show for the month of Jan­u­ary with a lit­tle episode that we’re call­ing the MUR­PHY, in hon­our of a real beau­ty of an offen­sive defence­man — Lar­ry Mur­phy! Not only is Murphs the only #55 to be enshrined in the Hock­ey Hall Of Fame, he was on the ice for arguably the great­est goal in Cana­di­an hock­ey his­to­ry — just check out his grin!

Then we talk about an absolute beast of a trade between Car­oli­na and Col­orado, with a lit­tle Chica­go sprin­kled in. It’s rare to see a play­er like Mikko Ranta­nen get trad­ed, even rar­er to see it hap­pen in sea­son. We break it down and talk about what it might mean for teams with UFA’s loom­ing, like your Win­nipeg Jets!

And then final­ly, we break down co-host Tom’s week­end long hock­ey odyssey — ODR’s and 4x4’s, with a lit­tle GHL sprin­kled in.

Did you know that before 1992, no one in the league had worn #54 in a game — Jim Vesey, father of Jim­my, did it first and 73 oth­ers have fol­lowed in 32 years since! We fig­ure the most notable is a good east boy, pride of Char­lot­te­town — Darth Quaider him­self, Mr. Adam McQuaid! He was a good stay at home d‑man for Boston, the New York Rangers and Colum­bus amass­ing 512 games and win­ning a cup with the B’s in 2010-11.

Then we dis­sect what’s going on in Van­cou­ver as the Canucks seem in some seri­ous dis­ar­ray — Co-Host Tom puts on GM Patrik Alv­in’s pants and fig­ured out whose got­ta go — J.T. Miller or Elias Pettersson. 

Final­ly, we talk fun stat lines — goals being scored with­out shots, goalies get­ting ginos AND apples, and will Eric Com­rie ever get some help?

Back at it on chilly Mon­day with an episode we’re call­ing The Mor­ris, after Derek Mor­ris — a good stay at home defense­man who played 1100 plus games in the league with Cal­gary, Col­orado, Phoenix and the Rangers. He wore the maple leaf a few times, notably win­ning a gold medal in 2004 at the Hock­ey World Cham­pi­onships on a team full of real beauties!

Then, we tip our cap to our local tendy — #37 Con­nor Helle­buy­ck who just notched career win num­ber 300, to go along with 43 (!!) career shutouts and 500 games played. Are we see­ing the best goalie in the world right now in our own back­yard? It sure feels like it most nights…

And then it’s all about the flow bro, as we talk hock­ey hair! The greasi­er and fluffi­er the bet­ter — all this, plus a trio of pop punk bangers from north of the border!

The boys are live in 2025 — our first episode of the new year is a nod to not­ed stay at home D‑man Adam Foote, a two time cup cham­pi­on and a pil­lar on some real­ly great Avalanche teams. Did you know he was the last Que­bec Nordique stand­ing? Nei­ther did we, but you know, we’re all about the learn­ing here on the big show!

We talk about Team Cana­da World Junior dis­ap­point­ment, again, and look at some steps that the maple leaf might need to take to get back to gold­en glo­ry. We also talk the Jet’s mini-slide into 2025 and talk poten­tial play­off impli­ca­tions for some teams on the bub­ble — a lit­tle ear­ly, per­haps, but that’s what we do!

And final­ly we get excit­ed to get back on the ice and talk about our own upcom­ing beer league adventures…

After a week off to take part in the sea­son­al mer­ri­ment, the boys are back to talk a lit­tle hock­ey with an episode we’re call­ing THE CAMP­BELL! That’s right, we’re giv­ing a nod to Bri­an ​“Soupy” Camp­bell, a great offen­sive d‑man who wore #51 for his entire career, which includ­ed stops in Buf­fa­lo, San Jose, Chica­go and Flori­da. He won a cup, a Lady Byng and we think that makes Soupy superb!

Then we talk World Juniors thus far — Cana­da is get­ting good tend­ing, but has yet to find their scor­ing touch on the eve of a big Decem­ber 31st matchup against the US! Then we catch up on the Jets, who have been hav­ing a fes­tive hol­i­day sea­son and aim to fin­ish 2024 on top of the whole darn league!

In our final seg­ment, co-host Tom puts on Chevy’s new box­ing day pants and con­sid­ers what should be done with free agent to be Niko­laj Ehlers, who seems to be heat­ing up!
