Not a lot of fel­las have worn num­ber 50, but ​‘tendy supreme Corey Craw­ford cer­tain­ly stands out as a two-time Stan­ley Cup and Jen­nings award win­ner. He back­stopped a few mon­ster Black­hawk teams in the 2010’s before his career trailed off and end­ed pre­ma­ture­ly due to con­cus­sion issues — he’s a real beau­ty though and we had fun talk­ing about him and his many nicknames!

Then in peri­od two, we fill you in on all of the must haves for your favourite hock­ey play­er this hol­i­day sea­son — we’re not talk­ing shiny bells and whis­tles here, we’re giv­ing you the essen­tials. And we spend way too much time talk­ing about stick tape and the best ways to apply it…

And then, it’s almost time for anoth­er hol­i­day favourite — the World Junior Hock­ey Cham­pi­onships! The big tour­ney kicks off with Cana­da vs Fin­land in the nation’s cap­i­tal on Box­ing Day, and we talk a lit­tle bit about this year’s squad of fresh faces.

All this and some weird Christ­mas tunes…

The boys are back with episode 9, num­ber 49, with a nod to a good ol’ Sud­bury boy — Bri­an Sav­age, who wore the num­ber for his entire career which includ­ed stops in Mon­tréal, Phoenix, St. Louis and Philadel­phia. Word is he’s a pret­ty stel­lar street hock­ey play­er as well!

Then, we’re pret­ty stoked to be joined by local leg­end Chris ​“Keen­er” Dougher­ty, who’s the dri­ving force behind Keen­er Jer­seys. Not only do they out­fit the best of the Win­nipeg Beer League cir­cuit, but they’ve expand­ed oper­a­tions into work­ing with a num­ber of NHL teams as well! Great con­ver­sa­tion with a real class act who takes us behind the sweater so to speak!

Final­ly, we talk about our own per­son­al jer­sey Mount Rush­mores and talk about the big trade send­ing Jacob Trou­ba to the sun­shine state!

Co-host Tom is still under the weath­er, but he’s a gamer and we’re back for a new episode — talk­ing all about a great 48, play­er turned GM, Daniel Brière! This man of many great nick­names plied his trade with Phoenix, Buf­fa­lo and Philly and then fin­ished with short, unmem­o­rable stints in Mon­tréal and Colorado. 

Then, Tom puts on GM Doug Arm­strong’s pants and projects the final ros­ter for Canada’s ros­ter for the upcom­ing Four Nation’s Cup! Lot’s of bub­ble buzz and who’s between the pipes?!?!

Final­ly, a quick chat about the Jets and their road woes — get­ting back to the 204 for some home cookin’ can’t come soon enough!

We’re back in the game with our final episode of Novem­ber — episode 7, cel­e­brat­ing num­ber 47 — the Lebeau! That’s right, we’re talk­ing Stéphan Lebeau, the sec­ond all time points and goal leader for the QMJHL! He had a good run ear­ly in his career with the Mon­tréal Cana­di­ans win­ning a cup in 1992⁄93. He fin­ished up in Ana­heim before head­ing over Switzer­land, play­ing 6 sea­sons in the Swiss A League.

We also do a quick Jets check in, before break­ing down what the heck is wrong with the once mighty Pitts­burgh Pen­guins. Co-host Tom slips on GM Kyle Dubas’s pants and tells us if they should tear it down, trade Sid the Kid or try and rebuild on the fly.

And we fin­ish off with a rapid fire hot stove, as Tom gives his quick takes on some of this week’s big sto­ries — all this and some good tunes too!

Back for anoth­er Mon­day, ready to tell you all about a real nice young Russ­ian fel­la, AK-46 aka Andrei Kos­tit­syn! His career start­ed off promis­ing­ly with Les Habi­tants, but by the time he left town for Nashville, he was entan­gled some­how with mem­bers of the Mon­tréal underworld.

Then, the boys head down to the rink to try their hands at some play-by-play dur­ing a Thurs­day night Garage League matchup between Where The Frykas Randy and the After Noon(an) Delights!

And then final­ly we set the para­me­ters for our oft dis­cussed Mount Rush­more… all this and great tunes too eh!

The boys are live on air on this spe­cial Remem­brance Day episode named for renowned Nova Sco­tia knuck­le chuck­er, the most pop­u­lar Moose­head in Hal­i­fax his­to­ry, Mr. Jody Shel­ley. This num­ber 45 plied his trade for four squads — the Blue Jack­ets, the Sharks, the Rangers and the Fly­ers, amass­ing 1538 min­utes in penal­ties! He’s cur­rent­ly the colour com­men­ta­tor with the Blue Jack­ets broadcasts!

In our sec­ond peri­od, we’re talkin’ your Win­nipeg Jets, and touch base on a myr­i­ad of top­ics around the league. And in the third, we give you a Garage League update and touch on some fan­ta­sy hockey!

If you’ve lis­tened to the pod, you know the boys love Babs — we’ll tell you about his time patrolling the blue line from Win­nipeg to Hart­ford, from Van­cou­ver to Philly and beyond!

Then, we head down to the rink to catch some Garage League of Hock­ey action between the After Noon(an) Delights and Where The Frykas Randy — we’ve got some rink­side inter­views with some league lumi­nar­ies and in the third frame, we give you a break down of the Jet’s week that was and touch base on a cou­ple Cen­tral Divi­sion rivals.

Back at it for anoth­er week and we just can’t escape the steely gaze of our num­ber 43, tendy turned com­men­ta­tor Mar­tin Biron! He plyed his trade most­ly with the Sabres in Buf­fa­lo, but also had stops in Philly and with both New York squads!

Then we talk about your unde­feat­ed Win­nipeg Jets, who at the time of record­ing are almost a tenth of the way towards an unbeat­en record this year. The fel­las tell you who is hot so far this year, and note a cou­ple of play­ers who are off to a slow­er start.

And then in the third peri­od, it’s a real hodge podge — we talk ver­ti­cal striped socks, boss eagle mas­cots and defunct Win­nipeg hock­ey clubs!

After a Thanks­giv­ing induced break, your co-hosts are back from their food comas and ready to talk some hockey!

We’re call­ing this episode THE MAKAROV in hon­our of Sergei Makarov — the man who put the M in the KLM line and racked up an astound­ing 13 (!!!) Gold Medals dur­ing an amaz­ing inter­na­tion­al career. Though he hit the NHL ice late in his career, he still won the rook­ie of the year award at the age of 31 (and caused a rule change that will forever­more bare his name) and aver­aged almost a point a game over 5 and half sea­sons in the big show!

Then we’re joined by long­time friend of the show, Eric Adams, an Ore­gon­ian trans­plant­ed in Salt Lake City. He’ll tell us all about the excite­ment that the Utah HC is bring­ing to the SLC area, if the fans are a knowl­edge­able bunch and most impor­tant­ly, which of these for­mer Coy­otes do you want on your fan­ta­sy squad!

Did­n’t he wear #41 you say? Well friend, he sure did — this year we decid­ed that we want­ed to give some of our high num­bered friends their due, so we’re pick­ing up our episode name game where sea­son 6 left off! 

Jaro, or the Halak-Ness Mon­ster as his pals liked to call him played in the show for 18 (!!!) years with 7 dif­fer­ent squads, often play­ing the 1A role in the net­min­der tan­dem, win­ning 2 Jen­nings Tro­phies along the way for his troubles.

Then we shift our focus to the now and talk at great length about your Win­nipeg Jets — the boys in Blue, White and Red start the sea­son this Wednes­day in Edmon­ton and we give you a sea­son pre­view and tell you why Brad Lam­bert isn’t in the open­ing night line­up, but also why you might see him soon­er than later.

And then we go rapid fire in peri­od three as co-host Jared put co-host Tom on the hot seat and gets some pre­dic­tions for the 2024 – 25 season!
