It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author and Maintenance Day podcaster Joe Yerdon to discuss a variety of topics, including Jack Eichel returning to NHL action, Buffalo Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams deserving some credit, the Sabres being fun to watch of late and a “Starting Five” draft consisting of Best TV Couples.
Roughly three months after finally getting his neck surgery Eichel returned to action, making his debut for Vegas on Wednesday night. The guys have plenty of thoughts on that as well as crediting Adams for some trades that are showing good early returns and the team being worth the price of admission of late, or at least the time devoted to watching them on TV.
They guys also draft their best TV couples, Patrick’s Wordle debut, some Oscar nominated flicks, the four-year anniversary of this podcast and much more!

On this episode of the future award-winning Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Joe From Queens to discuss last weekend’s Super Bowl, how the Buffalo Bills should approach this offseason and Jeff Skinner on fire for the Buffalo Sabres among other topics.
The guys recap a Super Bowl that even with a close score throughout and dramatic ending wasn’t overly exciting. They also talk about Aaron Donald’s place among the all-time great defensive players in the NFL and how the Rams built themselves a championship.
They also spend time talking about the Bills upcoming offseason, if they should be ultra-aggressive in pursuit of players via free agency and trades or if they should continue to rely heavily on the draft.
Skinner had a four goal game in Montreal this Sunday and already has reached the 20-goal plateau. Patrick talks Sabres while Joe contemplates pretending to care.
That, thoughts on the Super Bowl halftime show, Joe having to deal with getting Covid at the end of his honeymoon and much more.. Follow Joe on Twitter @Buffalowins

It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author and Maintenance Day podcaster Joe Yerdon to discuss a variety of topics, including determining if it’s time for the Buffalo Bills to go into all-in mode this offseason, what to look for in the second half of the Buffalo Sabres season, this week’s “Starting Five” draft of songs from The Beatles and much more.
The Los Angeles Rams are in the Super Bowl this year and Tampa Bay won it all last year. Both teams in mortgaged the future, the Rams with draft capital and the Bucs with salary cap space. The franchises may not be built for long-term success but they’ve made it to the Super Bowl in consecutive years. Is it time for the Bills to start maximizing every resource to give themselves the best chance to win a Super Bowl right now, even if it costs them down the road? The guys discuss as well wondering if the heartbreak of how they lost in Kansas City spills into 2022.
Meanwhile the Sabres are back in action after the all-star break. Joe gives listeners some things they should look forward to as we hit the back half of the season.
That, our weekly draft, enjoying a weather reprieve and much more!

It’s a special “Finer Wings Club” edition of Talking Buffalo Podcast as Patrick Moran is joined by Buffalo Bills beat reporter Matt Parrino and Spectrum Sports anchor Jon Scott for a conversation over wings (and pizza) taped at Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo.
The guys try (Jon and Matt for the first time) honey mustard barbeque, loganberry barbeque and chiavetta’s medium wings and are blown away. They talk about what they liked best about them and the vibe of Imperial before diving into a general discussion about wings and food in general in the Western New York area.
Fear not, Bills Mafia as there’s plenty of Bills talk, including some extremely candid takes focused on Sean McDermott and Tyler Bass as well as opining on if players prefer media protocols because of Covid or if they’d prefer things back like they were before. They also talk Gronk/Tre, the Bengals skipping the “process” and deciding it’s time for the Bills to go all-in this coming season even it comes at the expense of high draft capital.
They finish with a fun conversation about Cobra Kai, with plenty of notice for listeners who don’t want any series details spoiled.
Special thanks to Imperial Pizza (1035 Abbott Road) for hosting the podcast. The food, service, vibe and everything about one of South Buffalo’s best-known places was outstanding.

Award categories include best and worst game, unsung hero, pleasant surprise, best and worst developments, best rookie, best and worst plays and much more.

It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author and Maintenance Day podcaster Joe Yerdon to discuss a variety of topics, including some additions and subtractions with the Buffalo Bills coaching staff, an extended break for the Buffalo Sabres that couldn’t have come soon enough as well as their weekly “Starting Five” draft---this week consisting of the best board games ever.
The guys have thoughts on Brian Daboll getting the New York Giants head coaching job and Ken Dorsey being promoted to Buffalo offensive coordinator. They also discuss Sean McDermott and rumors of tension between he and Daboll.
The Sabres are now off until after the all-star break after playing three games in four nights out on the west coast shorthanded because of injury and Covid. The guys talk about how much of a wreck it’s been with guys constantly in and out of the lineup and how frustrating it’s been to not see the team at nearly full strength. They also highlight a handful of players on the team through the break.
They also discuss Tom Brady’s retirement, Patrick's biggest fashion pet peeve, the Starting Five draft of the best board games of all-time and much more.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast it’s time to begin a painfully premature look into the Buffalo Bills offseason and it starts with Patrick Moran being joined by Buffalo Rumblings content creator Joe Miller to highlight several of the Bills biggest bright spots over the 2021 season.
The guys admit that beginning offseason Bills topic discussion feels a few weeks too early but it is what it is, so today they discuss a lot of what went right for Buffalo this year, including key rookie contributions from Gregory Rosseau and Spencer Brown, the emergence of Dawson Knox and Gabriel Davis as vital offensive weapons, Ed Oliver finally becoming the type of player worthy of a top 10 draft pick plus other topics including of course, Josh Allen proving 2020 was no fluke.
They also spend some time discussing the Cincinnati Bengals shocking run to the AFC championship, if that makes them feel good or dampen their feelings about the Bills as an organization and much more.

It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author and Maintenance Day podcaster Joe Yerdon to discuss a variety of topics, including an extremely spirited discussion about the Buffalo Bills and where most the blame for those 13 seconds deserves to fall, why Buffalo Sabres netminder Aaron Dell should be traded or cut the first time the organization gets the opportunity, a “Starting Five” draft of Overrated Songs and much more.
It’s been several days but the shock over how the Bills managed to lose to the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs last week is still strong. The guys focus on those 13 seconds and question many aspects of Sean McDermott’s coaching results this season. They also talk about how impressed they were with Josh Allen and what they think the NFL should do about the overtime rule in the postseason.
Dell was suspended by the NHL for three games following a dirty hit behind his own net in Ottawa this past Tuesday. Joe has very strong thoughts on the matter.
The guys also draft their rosters of Overrated Songs in this week’s “Starting Five” and the list is sure to raise some eyebrows from fans. That and much more.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, the tone is somber as Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Joe From Queens to discuss a bunch of takeaways, mostly gut-wrenching and heartbreaking as the Buffalo Bills saw their season end almost unfathomably over the last 13 seconds in Kansas City on Sunday night.
The guys talk some of the things that went wrong, including some of the most horrific coaching decisions we’ve ever seen, a defense that laid an egg when it mattered most, the loss of Tre White finally fully felt and a defensive end position that simply didn’t get enough pressure on Patrick Mahomes.
Despite the horribly hard loss to stomach there were some positive things to come from it—most notably the ascension of Josh Allen these playoffs to true league superstardom and the official league-wide coming out party for second-year wide receiver Gabriel Davis.
All these topics are discussed and much more.
