  • Casual Wednesday With Joe Yerdon

On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author, sports media personality and friend Joe Yerdon for this special Casual Wednesday episode to discuss a variety of topics, including the Buffalo Bills finding themselves in a dog fight in the AFC, Buffalo Sabres forward Tage Thompson playing to his potential, “Starting Five” draft of the best female vocalists of the past 40 years, Black Friday shopping and much more.

The Bills were embarrassed on their home turf against Indianapolis this past Sunday and the guys still have plenty of reaction from that, including thoughts on the New England Patriots emerging as potential AFC eastern division favorites and who both guys think will end up in the Super Bowl from the conference as of today. They also talk about the lack of vaccinated players in Buffalo becoming a competitive disadvantage.

The Sabres are predictably losing games and rapidly slipping down the NHL standings but the guys focus on three Sabres who’ve showed a lot of promise of late: Thompson, Dylan Cozens and Rasmus Dahlin.

The guys also struggle with who to select in leave off in a very difficult “Starting Five” draft category this week, both hate the concept of Black Friday and much more. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

  • Bills Midseason Awards, Sabres Talk & Best TV Talk Show Hosts

It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author, sports media personality and friend Joe Yerdon to discuss a variety of topics, including some Buffalo Bills midseason awards (both good and bad) as well as thoughts on the void Spencer Brown leaves after going on the Covid list, parity in the NFL, Dustin Tokarski becoming a NHL feel good story and a “Starting Five” draft of best TV Talk Show Hosts.

Patrick goes through several Bills individual and team awards at the (pretty much) midseason point and Joe has thoughts on several of them. They also discuss the offensive line potentially in shambles again without Brown and not liking the parity that’s engulfing the league.

They also spend some time talking about the Sabres, including the surprising emergence of Tokarski in net (this was taped before the Calgary debacle on Thursday night) as well as the importance of this young team experiencing as much winning as possible, even at the expense of a potential higher draft pick next year.

That, plus this week’s draft of TV Talk Show Hosts and tons more!

  • Casual Friday: Bills, Sabres & Best Rock Bands

It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author, sports media personality and friend Joe Yerdon to discuss a variety of topics, including Patrick still not over last week’s Buffalo Bills loss, the Sabres near-future roster showing a lot of promise, a “Starting Five” draft of Best Rock Bands and much more.

The Bills only put up six points in an embarrassing loss to the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars last week and while the guys agree ugly losses happens to everyone including good teams in the NFL, the Bills offensive line is a problem that isn’t going to just go away. They talk about some of the mistakes Brandon Beane has made with the unit over the past few seasons and the shock that a third-round rookie not even expected to play his first year is suddenly a critical clog on the line.

The wheels are starting to fall off the Sabres season already, at least in the win/loss column. The guys talk about that not being surprising but provide some optimism with a glance into the not so distant future.

That, plus this weeks’ draft of Best Rock Bands, a review of last week’s “Starting Five” (Adam Sandler Movies) and tons more.

  • Are The Buffalo Bills Legitimately In Trouble?

On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Joe From Queens to discuss several Buffalo Bills topics, most notably examining if this team is legitimately in trouble after an embarrassing loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars this past weekend.

Among things discussed is the Bills offensive line that has been mediocre all season coupled with injuries had looking like a turnstile against a Jacksonville defense that shockingly dominated them. How does Sean McDermott possibly play Cody Ford again after this game? We’re at the point where the return of third-round rookie Spencer Brown this week feels critical.

Perhaps not as critical is the Bills non-existent running game. The guys talk about the lack of a running game as well as Stefon Diggs not being a bigger focal point of this offense the way he was last season.

That plus Josh Allen being forced to resort to 2018-19 hero ball, another dominant defensive effort wasted, Joe's take on Jack Eichel getting traded and much more.

  • Joe Yerdon On a Crazy Buffalo Sports & News Week

It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author, sports media personality and friend Joe Yerdon to talk about a variety of topics in what was a loaded sports/news week, including the Buffalo Sabres trading franchise center Jack Eichel, O.J. Simpson recently spending time in Buffalo, Aaron Rodgers getting caught in a lie (though not technically) and the Bills reportedly coming close to trading Mitch Trubisky among other things.

The guys add a little more to the Jack Eichel trade on the heels of a Talking Buffalo Podcast “Emergipod” that dropped Thursday fully covering it. The guys have thoughts on Jack’s character off the ice and if he deserved a lot or any of the blame many disgruntled fans are laying at his feet for Buffalo’s woeful on-ice performance during Jack’s tenure. They also talk about the team not playing so well on the west coast after a blazing start to the season.

They also talk about the sensationalizing of OJ Simpson being in Buffalo last week and how they would handle a personal encounter with the polarizing Simpson.

This week’s “Starting Five” draft is Adam Sandler Movies and the guys have a lot of fun with their selections. That plus examining if kicking off Christmas season right now is premature and much more.

  • EMERGIPOD: Jack Eichel Gets Traded To Vegas

It's an unplanned 'Emergipod" for just the second time ever on Talking Buffalo Podcast as Patrick Moran is joined by Joe Yerdon to discuss the long awaited but still ultimately still stunning trade that saw Buffalo deal Jack Eichel and a future third-round pick to Las Vegas for top prospect Peyton Krebs, winger Alex Tuch, a protected 2022 first-round pick and 2023 second round pick.

Joe has several thoughts on how things got to this point, Jack's time in Buffalo on and off the ice, what Krebs and Tuch will bring to the Sabres, how this changes the dynamic of this franchise and much more.

  • Aaron Quinn Talks Bills, OJ & Premature Christmas Season

On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn of Cover 1 to discuss several topics including takeaways from the Buffalo Bills victory over Miami last weekend, O.J. Simpson being sensationalized while back in Buffalo, if Christmas season begins too early every year and much more.

It certainly wasn’t pretty at least not in the first half, but the Bills improved to 5-2 with a 15 point victory over the Dolphins. The guys discuss the offense’s slow start, Josh Allen’s swag rubbing enemy fans the wrong way, the defense continuing their trend of feasting on mediocre quarterbacking and a few unsung heroes form this game.

Also, O.J. Simpson was in Buffalo over the past several days and it caused quite a stir. Simpson tailgated with fans on Sunday before watching the game from a suite and there were fans lined up to get their photos taken with an accused murderer. The guys have thoughts on that as well as Patrick thinking Christmas season shouldn’t unofficially start on November 1st, Halloween and much more.
