  • Adams is Crazy, Milano's A Stud & Best MCU Characters

It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast presented by Casey’s Black Rock, which means Patrick Moran is joined by sports writer and media personality Joe Yerdon to talk about a variety of topics, including the Buffalo Sabres opening up training camp with a baffling press conference by GM Kevyn Adams, Rasmus Dahlin not signing a long-term deal, Buffalo Bills linebacker Matt Milano becoming one of the best linebackers in the NFL, the significance of the Bills winning their next two home games, a “Starting Five” draft of Marvel Comics Universe (MCU) Movie Characters and much more.

Adams spoke to the media on Thursday and publicly stripped injured/disgruntled Sabres franchise center Jack Eichel of the team’s captaincy. The guys are in agreement that doing so in the manner it was done was completely idiotic and likely further distanced them from a fan base already long frustrated and angry. They also discuss why Dahlin was smart to only sign a three-year bridge deal with the organization and examine if Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen has a legitimate chance to win the Sabres starting goaltender job right out of training camp and the preseason.

They also talk some football and Patrick has concluded Milano is not only one of the better outside linebackers in the NFL but goes as far to say Milano’s the second-best player on the Bills right now After Josh Allen. Speaking of, the guys discuss Josh’s slow start and if they’re at all worried about it while looking forward to what could be a good game against a stout Washington defense on Sunday.

This week’s “Starting Five” features Best MCU movie characters. Patrick’s on his first winning stream since the two first started weekly drafts four months ago. Can he get to a three-week winning streak? That, plus thoughts on 762 Bills season ticket holders getting refunds because they won’t get vaccinated and much more.

  • Buffalo Bills "Talk About It Tuesday" With Aaron Quinn

On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast it’s “Talk About it Tuesday” as Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn from Cover 1 to discuss several topics stemming from the Buffalo Bills blowout, shutout victory in Miami this past weekend.

The Bills defense absolutely suffocated Miami from start to finish and the guys talk about several players who helped make that happen, including Matt Milano beginning to look like a free agency bargain, Taron Johnson playing like a guy ready to collect a hefty raise in the offseason, A.J. Epensea demonstrating why it’s foolish to ever give up on a player after just one season and Gregory Rosseau, who’s quickly looking like a first-round rookie draft steal for Buffalo.

Of course when the offense scores five touchdowns they deserve some air time as well. The guys spend time talking about the Bills improving running game as both Devin Singletary and Zack Moss had a significant impact on the game. They also discuss Josh Allen’s relatively slow start, at least compared to last season’s MVP caliber run.

All that and much more. You can follow Aaron on Twitter @AaronQuinn716 and be sure to check out the Cover 1 Buffalo Podcast

  • Casual Friday: Sabres, Bills, Bisons & Best 21st Century TV Comedies

It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast presented by Casey’s Black Rock, which means Patrick Moran is joined by sports writer and media personality Joe Yerdon to talk about a variety of topics, including the Buffalo Sabres prospect challenge going on this weekend, the urgency of the Buffalo Bills to respond well in Miami after last week’s opening season loss, if fans care about the success of the Buffalo Bisons and Toronto Blue Jays plus a “Starting Five” draft of 21st Century TV Comedies.

NHL season is nearly here, with Sabres training camp starting next week and the preseason on September 28th. The guys discuss some of the young guys in town this weekend for the Sabres Prospect Challenge, including thoughts on Jack Quinn and JJ Peterka.

The Bills lost to Pittsburgh last week and Josh Allen didn’t look great in doing so. This is a great week for Allen to bounce back against a team he’s owned throughout his young career. The guys discuss the significance of not falling to 0-2 and three games behind in the division this early.

Also, do fans even care that the Blue Jays and Bisons are both playoff-bound? Not really, at least not on social media.  That, this week’s “Starting Five” draft of Best TV Comedies from this century and a lot more.

  • Let's Not Underreact To The Bills Opening Loss Either

On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, the Buffalo Bills began the 2021 NFL season victims of an upset loss at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Patrick Moran is joined by recurring guest Joe From Queens (@BuffaloWins) and discuss that while the sky certainly isn’t falling, we don’t need to be underreacting to Sunday’s ugly start to the season either.

The guys discuss a Bills offense that on this day was often physically manhandled by a Pittsburgh Steelers defense that defended every yard of the field. In particular the offensive line struggled against a Pittsburgh front four that constantly bothered Josh Allen without having to blitz. They also discuss how much that affected Allen and why he didn’t play better, in fact often look like the 2019 version of himself as opposed to the 2020 NFL MVP runner up we saw last year.

They also talk about a Buffalo defense that dominated the first half but then faded late, special teams ultimately deciding the game, what the hell offensive coordinator Brian Daboll was thinking on Sunday, a look ahead to what becomes a pretty important Week two divisional matchup in Miami, thoughts on the Bills/Sabres new vaccination policy and much more.

It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast presented by Casey’s Black Rock, which means Patrick Moran is joined by sports writer and media personality Joe Yerdon to talk about a variety of topics, including their predictions for the 2021 NFL season, the start of picking each game versus the spread, causes for concern with the Bills, the departure of two key Bills beat reporters and a “Starting Five” draft consisting of Best HBO Series Characters.

Patrick and Joe both look into their crystal ball to predict all eight NFL divisional winners this year as well as three wild cards for each conference before offering up league MVP and Super Bowl predictions. Patrick also chimes in with a few things that he’s wary about for the Bills going into the season.

This season Patrick and Joe will pick all NFL games against the point spread and keep a running total with the winner receiving what else----bragging rights.

Speaking of, this week’s “Starting Five” draft is Best HBO Characters and Patrick attempts to stop Joe’s domination of these drafts. That, plus thoughts on Marcel-Louis Jacques and Matthew Fairburn both leaving the Buffalo market and much more.

  • Casual Friday: Stadium Talk, Wingest, Eichel & Best Karaoke Songs

It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast presented by Casey’s Black Rock, which means Patrick Moran is joined by sports writer and media personality Joe Yerdon to talk about a variety of topics, including thoughts on details of a proposed new Buffalo Bills stadium, Patrick hating on Wingest and the Buffalo Blue Jays fan base, Jack Eichel’s new representation and a “Starting Five” draft to pick the best karaoke songs.

John Wawrow (Associated Press) put out a report earlier in the week that outlined a proposed new Bills stadium that would have 60,000 seats (17% fewer than current capacity) and an overhang as opposed to a dome. Joe has plenty of thoughts on it and makes his distrust for Pegula Sports & Entertainment well known.

Meanwhile Patrick puts on his hater hat to discuss Wingest taking place at Highmark Stadium an overrated event and puts bandwagon Blue Jays on blast for disregarding the franchise now that they’re done playing games in Buffalo.

The guys also discuss the difficulties unvaccinated NFL players that recently got cut are going to have finding work going forward, when/if Sabres center Jack Eichel is getting surgery as well as the growing possibility he may still be on his roster when the regular season begins, draft a “Starting Five” of the best and most popular karaoke songs out there today and much more.

  • Bonus: Anthony Marino On Bills and NFL Roster Moves

On this bonus Wednesday episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast Patrick Moran is joined by Anthony Marino of Buffalo Rumblings to talk several Buffalo Bills topics focused around NFL cut down day.

The Bills didn't make any stunning cuts, but Reid Ferguson and Jacob Hollister were the most noteworthy, although it's reported Ferguson's release was merely procedural and quite possibly the same for Hollister.  Anthony discusses having at least mild surprise that Tommy Doyle made the roster while Patrick explains why he thinks Cam Lewis is the Bills cut most likely to end up claimed by another team. They also break the roster down positionally going forward.

Also, John Wawrow of the Associated Press had an eye-opening report about Pegula Sports & Entertainment’s proposal for a 60,000 seat new stadium that would ready for play in 2027. It would become the smallest capacity stadium in the NFL in terms of fans and Anthony has plenty to say about it.

They also discuss some of the notable moves around the league, including division rival New England moving on from quarterback Cam Netwon and why Patrick thinks Mac Jones is poised to have the most immediate success of this year's rookie quarterback class. All this and much more.

Be sure to follow Anthony on Twitter @AnthMarino and check out Buffalo Rumblings for all the latest Bills new, commentary and podcasts.

They also discuss several areas of the team in terms of roster makeup, including thoughts on the Darryl Johnson trade and identify a few area that could see some additions come in before the start of the regular season on September 12th.  Pat also has a handful of bold NFL predictions that Aaron responds to.
