It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author, sports media personality and friend Joe Yerdon to talk about a variety of topics, including the Buffalo Sabres continuing to impress their fans and those around the league, the Buffalo Bills back in action this weekend against a down-and-out divisional rival, what Joe's up to with his Noted Hockey substack and a “Starting Five” draft consisting of Favorite Halloween treats.
As of this taping the Sabres have went 4-1-1 through their first six games and the start has caught the eyes of critics and fans alike. Joe discusses that while the percentage of winning is very likely unsustainable the compete level the team shows under Don Granato should keep endearing them to fans they’re desperately trying to win back. They also talk Craig Anderson being a rock in net early, the great starts of J.J. Peterka and Jack Quinn in Rochester as well as the Sabres surprisingly fast start not showing good dividends at the box office.
They also discuss the Buffalo Bills and a very wide open AFC, who is currently the biggest obstacle to the Bills getting to a Super Bowl, have a very spirited "Starting Five" draft of Favorite Halloween candy and tons more.

On this episode of the future award-winning Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran is joined for a third time by social media personality and content creator, the notorious Barry McCockiner for an explosive conversation focused on his social media exploits, the NFL, Buffalo Bills and of course rants on Tom Brady.
Barry got his Twitter account permanently suspended for the umpteenth time a few months ago after getting his follower count up well over 100,000. He talks about how that happened and why he thinks a NFL quarterback’s agent was behind it. He also elaborates on it being a blessing as its resulted in him spending more time building his YouTube brand and creating videos every week consistently, growing that audience to around 58,000 subscribers in the process.
They then spend a bunch of time talking about the NFL, ranging from examining if the Bengals are for real to what the hell has went wrong with the Dolphins, Chiefs and Sam Darnold in Carolina. Of course, Barry goes on one of his trademark Tom Brady rants when the subject of Tampa Bay comes up.
Barry also has insight on why he thinks the Bills are the team to beat in a tough AFC conference and much more.
You can follow Barry on Twitter @BarryOnHere and be sure to check out the Barry McCockiner YouTube Page.

It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author, sports media personality and friend Joe Yerdon to talk about a variety of topics, including an in-depth discussion on the Buffalo Sabres shockingly hot start, not being worried about the Buffalo Bills, Joe’s new venture into sports writing and a “Starting Five” draft consisting of Favorite Tom Hanks movies.
As this podcast episode drops the Sabres have won all three of their games. Joe talks about several of the players that’ve contributed to the Sabres fast start and albeit a small sample size, if he thinks its sustainable. He also talks about how much different the team looks under Don Granato compared to when Ralph Krueger was the captain of the ship and the guys talk about if Jack Eichel actually brought toxicity to the locker room.
On the Bills side, Patrick hits on thinking Buffalo should’ve won in Tennessee on Monday Night but ultimately got the result they deserved. That said, with games upcoming against Miami, Jacksonville, the New York Jets and Indianapolis there’s essentially no reason to worry.
They also talk about Joe’s new writing venture, Noted Hockey (click that link to subscribe for free) including why he started it and what fans can expect.
They wrap up with this week’s “Starting Five’ selections of Tom Hanks movies and here’s a spoiler alert---neither selected The Green Mile. All that and much more.

On this Wednesday bonus episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, host Patrick Moran discusses his 10 biggest Buffalo Bills takeaways from Week six on the heels of their frustrating three-point loss at Tennessee on Monday Night Football.
After taking some time to come up with measured thoughts rather than knee jerk reactions, Patrick talks about how the Bills should’ve won despite not actually deserving to, agreeing fully with the decision to go for the win on fourth down as well as the play call despite failed execution, the offense not doing enough despite putting up 31 points and special teams having a huge negative impact on a game in both Buffalo losses this year.
He also hits on a very worrisome defensive effort by the Bills that was poor in every way imaginable; from personnel decisions to game plan and execution. He also provides a little perspective on the Bills season to this point—all that and much more.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Joe From Queens to offer instant reaction, observations and takeaways from the Buffalo Bills 34-31 loss on Monday Night Football at Tennessee in a chat taped just minutes after the game concluded.
In a game the Bills should’ve won even it they didn’t deserve it, the much heralded defense was the main culprit behind Buffalo’s second defeat of the season. The guys talk about how the front seven got no pressure on Ryan Tannehill and seemed to be playing on their heels all night.
They also discuss if they agree with the Bills decision to go with a Josh Allen sneak on the game-deciding fourth down call, disagree on Allen’s overall performance and look at the big picture for the Bills as they head into their bye week at 4-2.

It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by sports writer and media personality Joe Yerdon to talk about a variety of topics, including examining the importance of the Buffalo Bills beating Kansas City this Sunday, the Buffalo Sabres roster and lineup starting to take shape, MLB playoffs underway and this week’s “Starting Five” draft of Favorite Bills quarterbacks between Jim Kelly through Josh Allen.
The Bills played arguably their two worst games last season against Kansas City, including the AFC championship one-sided defeat. The guys talk about the need to beat the Chiefs on Sunday and not just for league standing purposes. Another loss to the Chiefs could have this team wondering if they'll ever beat them, while a victory in prime time could propel Buffalo to new heights of confidence. They also talk about what's different about this Bills team now versus last year and assess the need for some of their injured players to be ready to go on Sunday.
Meanwhile the Sabres are getting their roster set for the start of the regular season, which begins next week. The guys talk about them appearing to be set at goaltender for now and Casey Mittelstadt likely drawing the No. 1 center spot to begin the 2021-22 campaign.
They also hit on the MLB playoff beginning with the Yankees already out and a draft of favorite Bills quarterbacks sandwiched between Jim Kelly and Josh Allen. All that and much more.

It’s another edition of the “Finer Wings Club” on Talking Buffalo Podcast and Patrick Moran is joined by CBS Sports NFL draft and player analyst Chris Trapasso in a conversation taped originally at Macy’s Place Pizzeria in Cheektowaga before Patrick's self induced recording equipment accident forced them to his home studio set up in West Seneca.
The recording mishap is explained at the beginning of the podcast. That aside, Macy’s has long been on Patrick’s Mt. Rushmore of wing spots and Chris, who’s never previously had them finds out why. The guys discuss the medium, medium cajun and hot honey mustard wings from Macy’s as well as some of Chris’ favorite spots.
Of course they spend plenty of time talking the Buffalo Bills, who at 3-1 and coming off a 40-0 drubbing of Houston find themselves at No. 1 on the ESPN power rankings this week. They talk about a defense that’s been dominant, what should be expected of defensive stars Tremaine Edmunds and Ed Oliver right now, Matt Milano and Taron Johnson's injury concerns and more.
They also discuss some things from around the league, including Miami dropping the ball by passing on Justin Herbert as well as a look ahead to Buffalo's clash at Kansas City this Sunday night.
That and much, much more. Follow Chris on Twitter @ChrisTrapasso. Special thanks to Macy's Place Pizzeria for hosting and providing amazing wings (and stuffed crust pizza)

It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast presented by Casey’s Black Rock, which means Patrick Moran is joined by sports writer and media personality Joe Yerdon to talk about a variety of topics, including the Buffalo Bills playing the game last Sunday we’ve been waiting for, thoughts on the Buffalo Sabres early in the preseason and this week’s “Starting Five” draft of Best Music Acts from the 1980s.
The Bills finally looked equally good on both offense and defense last Sunday in their blowout victory over Washington. The guys hit on that and talk about what teams around the league should be taken serious and which are likely to be exposed as frauds.
On the hockey side they talk about the Sabres early in camp and their first preseason victory in a shootout earlier this week.
Also, Joe broke a two-week losing streak in their weekly “Starting Five” draft with a victory in the Marvel Movie Characters category. Can Patrick rebound in this week’s 80’s Music Acts draft? That, plus Patrick explains why Rocky III is the best Rocky of them all, Joe talks about his live AEW show experience this week in Rochester and much more.

On the episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, it’s the second of a two-part conversation as Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens and today Joe rants on several topics, including now former Buffalo Sabres anthem singer Doug Allen, Rachel Bush and seemingly slanted Covid vaccination coverage from several Buffalo media outlets.
Doug Allen announced publicly that he won’t be returning to sing the national anthem at Sabres home games after 25 years, primarily because of the vaccination policy at Key Bank Arena with Allen not vaccinated. Joe has plenty to say about that.
The guys also talk about WKBW tweeting clickbait material on Twitter in light of one of its one being seriously injured an accident and what’s come off to many as one-sided reporting on the vaccination issue.
That and plenty more during this candid and at times explosive conversation.

On the episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, it’s the first of a two part conversation as Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens with today’s focus on 10 early season Buffalo Bills takeaways following their first three games.
Sunday’s victory over Washington was the game Bills fans and media with high expectations for them have been waiting for this season. The Bills dominated on both sides of the ball and the guys talk extensively about that, including Josh Allen returning to MVP form, Emanuel Sanders playing like a No. 1 receiver, Dawson Knox getting redemption and both Dion Dawkins and Darryl Williams bouncing back from early season struggles.
On the defensive side the guys discuss Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer being so good it’s almost taken for granted when it comes to this defense.
Also, the conversation gets spirited (to say the least) when the topic turns to Tremaine Edmunds.
That plus Patrick’s concerned about special teams while Joe isn’t and the team that beat Buffalo (Pittsburgh) is quickly being exposed as fraudulent. That and much more. Follow Joe on Twitter @Buffalowins and come back tomorrow for Part II, which focuses primarily on the Buffalo media and unbalanced coverage of certain events.
