On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran has his weekly thoughts and observations on the Buffalo Bills after watching the coaches All-22 film and analyzing the PFF grades of an ugly loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in prime time that dropped them to 5-4 on the season and raises legitimate questions about this is even a playoff team let alone a championship caliber squad.
Film study along with the naked eye reveals to Patrick that among other things Sean McDermott's personnel in the secondary doesn't seem to match his aggressive defensive attack philosophy, Von Miller having no business being on the field for the game's most critical defensive play, every thing seeming to feel like a grind for the Bills offense---laboring for points and first downs that feel more effortless to other teams and a handful of PFF grades that feel a bit too generous.
Patrick also talks about the puzzling inconsistent production of Gabe Davis, Deonte Harty feeling like a waste of money as things stand, big struggles for a Bills rookie and an admirable job by linebacker Tyrel Dodson.
That and plenty more Bills notes, grades and thoughts from yet another disappointing offensive showing.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by longtime friend and recurring guest Tone Pucks for a second consecutive day to offer more perspective on the Buffalo Bills loss to Cincinnati Bengals after sleeping on it, including how they're slicing up the blame pie for Buffalo's troubles that have them currently sit out of an AFC playoff spot.
From injuries on defense to bad turnovers, a vanishing running back, predictability and coaching among others, there's plenty of blame to be spread around. That's what the guys do today---level criticism that at this point is flat-out warranted as the Bills suddenly face two absolute must-win games over the next few weeks.
They also spend time talking about a potential rocky offseason and future for the relationship of Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott. That and much more. Follow Tone Pucks on Twitter @TonePucksRedux

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by longtime friend and recurring guest Tone Pucks for his weekly visit to discuss the Buffalo Bills losing on Sunday night football to the Cincinnati Bengals, 24-18 in a game that should have fans and media questioning the Bills coaching now more than any point this season.
After a promising opening Buffalo drive that answered a Bengals touchdown, the Bills were thoroughly dominated in the first half and ended up in a hole they couldn't climb out from. The guys have a lot of thoughts in an episode streamed just minutes after the game ended---including Sean McDermott and Ken Dorsey doing a terrible job in many area, Josh Allen being plagued by inconsistency, a defense holding on by a thread physically and a crowded AFC playoff picture that has the Bills potentially in legitimate trouble.

It's a rare weekend Saturday episode of Talking Buffalo as Patrick Moran breaks down three keys to the Buffalo Bills upsetting the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football as well as offering a prediction in addition to some Sabres talk.
For the first time in 27 games the Bills enter a game as the underdog. Patrick remembers the last time that happened and how Buffalo responded. He also has thoughts on new additions Rasul Douglas and Linval Joseph to the defense before discussing the importance of Buffalo starting fast on Sunday and running the ball effectively.
He also spend a few minutes talking about the Sabres, who just can't seem to find any consistency. That plus Patrick pays homage to popular Bills fan Del Reid and more.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Anthony Marino from Buffalo Rumblings to preview a huge Sunday night showdown between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals in addition to some thoughts on Buffalo's acquisition of cornerback Rasul Douglas from the Green Bay Packers.
The Bills did end up making a trade before Tuesday's deadline, much to the delight of most Bills fans. While Chicago cornerback Jaylon Johnson was the reported top targeted, Buffalo pivoted when the asking price was too high and landed on the Green Bay veteran Douglas. The guys talk about why he's a great schematic fit for the Buffalo defense and quite frankly, several other factors that make it appear like a sound trade.
They also spend plenty of time previewing the Bills and Bengals game coming to prime time on Sunday night, outlaying a handful of things the guys feel is the key to a Buffalo victory and agreeing that this is truly a measuring stick type of game for the Bills.
They also offer predictions on the game and much more. Be sure to follow Anthony on Twitter @AnthMarino and check out Buffalo Rumblings, featuring written and podcast/vidcast content pretty much daily.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by writer and sports media personality Joe Yerdon to discuss among other topics the Buffalo Sabres starting to rear up the offense after a slow start to the early season and if top prospect Zach Benson will be sticking around beyond this week.
The Sabres surprisingly dominated the Colorado Avalanche this past Sunday, 4-0 and have now scored at least four goals in three straight game and at least three in six of their last seven. Joe talks about what's starting to click after a ho hum first few games of the season offensively.
Joe also has thoughts on what the future holds for Benson and fellow young first-rounder Matthew Savoe with decisions due on each soon, could Victor Olofsson be demoted to Rochester if no trade partner is found, how he thinks the goaltending situation is playing out and marveling at the superstar Rasmus Dahlin has become.
That plus it's time to see what we really have with the Buffalo Bills when they face legitimate Super Bowl contender Cincinnati on the road this week and much more.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by longtime friend and recurring guest Tone Pucks for his weekly visit to discuss if the Buffalo Bills offensive problems are fixed as it nears the critical portion of their schedule.
There were signs of encouragement in Buffalo's victory over Tampa this past Thursday night. Rookie Dalton Kincaid is becoming heavily involved in the passing game over the past few weeks while Khalil Shaklir is showing signs of emerging in his second year. Combine that with Gabe Davis bouncing back nicely from a one catch performance at New England with James Cook running the ball and of course the Josh Allen/Stefon Diggs combination---the Bills offense feels ready to start running on all cylinders.
Does Tone Pucks buy it though? Absolutely not and plenty of bickering ensues. Tone doubles down on betting Cincinnati big and elaborates why.
Also discussed is the Buffalo Sabres very impressive 4-0 shutout over one of the best teams in the NHL, Colorado. They have thoughts on Ukka-Pekka Luukkonen getting his first-ever NHL shutout and guys like Alex Tuch and Casey Mittlestadt turning around slow starts to the season. Plus, what do they think will happen with young forward Zach Benson when his nine games are up before the first year of his entry contract is burned?

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran has some heat of the moment, instant analysis immediately following the Buffalo Bills winning, barely, over Tampa, 24-18 in a game that felt like it should've never been that close.
The offense came out hot and played well through three quarters before stalling out in the fourth, a role reversal of the past three weeks. Meanwhile the defense played very well almost entirely throughout, when a pair of horrible and much deserved fourth down penalties nearly ended in their downfall.
Patrick goes over everything he liked---and didn't like about this game in the moments following the final whistle, setting up a few days of more measured reactions and analysis from upcoming guests.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Anthony Marino from Buffalo Rumblings to preview tonight's prime time and extremely important clash between the Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Bucs with a focus on things we need to see from Buffalo.
The Bills are in peril after losing in Foxboro last week and at 4-3 can't afford to lose another game where they're considered a heavy favorite. The guys go through a list of things they're really hoping to see from Buffalo starting Thursday night and beyond, including bounce backs from talented defensive ends that no-showed in New England, getting something/anything positive from the defensive tackle position, better start from the offense, a more adventurous Josh Allen and reasonable production from Gabe Davis.
They also try to rid of the frustration associated with the Bills so far in 2023 with some "get right therapy" exercises. That and much more.
