On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran has his weekly thoughts and observations on the Buffalo Bills after watching the coaches All-22 film of their borderline disgraceful loss in Foxboro to the New England Patriots on Sunday in addition to analyzing some Pro Football Focus stats and grades given from the game.
Some things stuck out like a sore thumb after watching the film even more watching the game play out live this past Sunday. Among them discussed today is the horrible play at defensive tackle, impact defensive ends doing nothing for the entirety of the game, a very rough go for Taron Johnson and quite frankly, a pretty poor performance from Josh Allen.
This game coupled with the fast few has Patrick wondering if Sean McDermott needs to start having conversations about playing Ryan Bates at center and what they're doing with Von Miller----is his trying to come back from the ACL tear actually hurting the defense?
That and plenty more Bills notes, grades and thoughts.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by PK from the Buffalo Sports Collective for some instant analysis following the Buffalo Sabres losing at home to Montreal, 3-1 in addition to some (unpleasant) Buffalo Bills talk.
The Sabres outshot Montreal, 37-26 but were too cute if not soft with the puck in the offensive zone. The guys talk about them seemingly unwilling to get the puck in the net and fight for rebounds. They also point out very bad efforts from two of their best players: Alex Tuch and Owen Power. They also hit on the Sabres in danger of falling into a big early season hole---with five of their next seven on the road.
The guys also spend some discussing the Buffalo Bills and conclude that you can put aside any still a top tier team discussion and begin focusing on if the Bills will even make the postseason if some things don't start changing quickly. One things' for certain---Sean McDermott's brand of "complementary football" isn't working out. How much of the Bills problems falls on coaching?

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Tone Pucks for his weekly visit to discuss the Buffalo Bills utterly inexcusable loss to the previously lifeless New England Patriots that has everyone rightfully questioning if the Bills are becoming frauds.
The guys talk about the offense essentially sleepwalking through an entire first half for a third straight week, a defense that folded like a tent at the end of the game, sloppy tackling and injuries that are feeling like they're too much to overcome.
They also talk about the Sabres winning two of their last three over the past week and generally thoughts on the team as things stand.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, it’s another installment of the “Live from Imperial” series as Patrick Moran is joined by Batavia Daily News sports editor Alex Brasky to discuss his life and career in addition to plenty of Buffalo Bills talk in a conversation shot live from Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo.
After crushing some wings from Imperial the guys sit down to chat, and Alex talks about life growing up in the region and what made him want to become a sports writer. He went the small school route---graduating from Genesee Community College and operated a sports blog called Batavia's Best before the opportunity to join the Daily News in 2018 and becoming the regional sports editor in 2022. Alex discusses all those steps and parts of his life as well as working alongside the mainstream Buffalo sports media covering the Bills and Sabres.
Speaking of, Patrick and Alex talk about a Bills offense that appears to be struggling yet still looks like one of the league's best offense per several statistical metrics. How much of this is on Ken Dorsey?
That plus some some Buffalo sports media talk, fun facts, revealing stuff from Alex and plenty more.
You can follow Alex on Twitter @AlexBrasky. Big thank you once again to this episode’s sponsor, Imperial Pizza for outstanding food and a great vibe to host a show at!

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Anthony Marino from Buffalo Rumblings to focus on a handful of Buffalo Bills players who have been playing excellent so far this season but aren't really getting a lot of attention on a national level.
The guys discuss among others Taron Johnson, Leonard Floyd, AJ Epenesa and Terrell Bernard as four standouts that aren't talked about much if at all beyond the Buffalo telescope. Anthony also has a few guys of his own to throw on the list.
Before getting going on the Bills talk with Anthony, Patrick spends a few minutes talking about the Sabres first win of the season Tuesday night, an important one against Tampa Bay. That plus the guys play their "Finish the Sentence" segment and much more.
Be sure to follow Anthony on Twitter @AnthMarino and check out Buffalo Rumblings, featuring written and podcast/vidcast content pretty much daily.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran has his weekly thoughts and observations on the Buffalo Bills after watching the coaches All-22 film of their straight up lucky victory over the New York Giants last Sunday night in addition to analyzing some of the Pro Football Focus stats and grades given from the game.
Patrick's got a few big takeaways following the re-watch of the game, including skepticism on the job Ken Dorsey's doing as offensive coordinator over the past few games, Von Miller getting closer to being ramped back up and Brandon Beane needing to look into bolstering the defensive tackle position before the trade deadline.
He also hits on why he thinks Latavius Murray's basically become James Cook's equal in running back snaps, Dawson Knox continuing to struggle, Terrell Bernard keeping up a high level of play and Stefon Diggs pacing to obliterate all his receiving records.
That and plenty more Bills notes, grades and thoughts.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Tone Pucks for his weekly visit to discuss the Buffalo Bills barely escaping what would've been an epically embarrassing home loss to the New York Giants on Sunday night and if offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey's capable of fixing what's ailing the offense--if it's not him personally who ails the Bills offense the most.
The Bills played absolutely horrible offensively for the majority of Sunday night's game before scoring touchdowns on consecutive possessions to take a lead that ultimately went down to the final play of the game. The guys discuss if they feel a little better about the big picture after sleeping on it for a night before recording the podcast in addition to focus on what's ailing the offense the most and if Dorsey will make the necessary changes in its attack. They also discuss some of the highlights and lowlights from the game, and brutally honest on if they think this is currently a championship caliber football team. They also spend some time dissecting portions of an excellent article on the Bills from Tyler Dunne of Go Long.
That plus some Buffalo Sabres (very) early season struggles that has Pucks perturbed already and plenty more.

It’s another edition of LIVE from Imperial series on Talking Buffalo, this time with Patrick Moran joined by both Buffalo Bills beat reporter at WGR 550, Sal Capaccio and former Bills Pro Bowl center and current radio broadcaster Eric Wood for a sit-down conversation taped a few nights ago live from Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo.
The guys discuss several topics beyond just what's going on with the team they cover. That includes Eric's comfort level rising as he's transitioned into broadcasting following his playing days, Sal's new intimate vidcast "Sal's House" and thoughts on how the national media has treated Stefon Diggs. That plus Eric discusses how teams react and quickly move forward from major injuries, their routine with prep leading up to Bills games, parenthood and much more.
Before that Patrick quickly intros the episode with disgust that the Bills quite literally had to survive the final play of the game to defeat the New York Giants on Sunday night--setting the tone for future episodes coming throughout the week.
You can follow Eric on Twitter @EWood70 plus be sure to check out his "What's Next With Eric Wood" podcast and pick up his book, Tackle What's Next.
You can follow Sal on Twitter @SalSports. Thank you again to Imperial Pizza (1035 Abbott) for hosting this live series. Make sure you visit them for some killer food/drinks and great vibes.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by PK from the Buffalo Sports Collective to discuss the Sabres opening their 2023-24 regular season with a one-sided loss to the New York Rangers in front of their home Buffalo crowd.
The Sabres were outworked and seemingly every time they made a mistake the puck wound up in their net. The guys talk about opening night jitters for Buffalo, New York's effective 1-3-1 defense and ability to block numerous power play chances. Also, thoughts on who had their best and worst Sabres debuts.
The guys also talk plenty of Buffalo Bills and things they're looking to find out going forward now that Matt Milano and DaQuan Jones join Tre White as very likely done for the season with injuries. Those topics include who'll emerge next to Terrell Bernard at linebacker, can Kaiir Elam take advantage if he even gets any chance, will the tight ends ever get it going before its too late and can the Bills finally get some injury luck on their side.
You can follow PK on Twitter @PK_BSC and check out the Buffalo Sports Collective podcast.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran goes over his five biggest studs and five biggest duds for the Buffalo so far this season through their first five games.
It's been a pretty wild season for the Bills just five games in, featuring three blowout wins including a signature win over their division rival Miami. Unfortunately it also includes a debacle of a loss against the Jets and disastrous trip to London that resulted in defeat the Jacksonville with season-altering injuries. Patrick comes up with his list of the of players that've made the biggest--and least impact for the team with thoughts on each.
He also sets the table for the Buffalo Sabres opening the season tonight, continues his beef with a smattering of Bills fans going after him over a few of his takes and much more.
