Talking Buffalo

On today’s Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) for their weekly chat (usually on Wednesday), this time around focused on what the guys liked and disliked most about the Buffalo Bills 2023 draft and offseason in general.

The Bills took Dalton Kincaid and O'Cyrus Torrence with their first two picks before taking a big surprise in the third round with Dorian Williams. After having plenty of time to digest the picks, the guys have thoughts on what they liked and didn't like about it. They also discuss the team signing running back Latavius Murray and defensive tackle Poona Ford following the draft and team's offseason in general. That and plenty more today.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by writer and sports media personality Joe Yerdon for their weekly chat, this week focused on five things that went wrong for the Buffalo Sabres in 2022-23 after covering the positives the last time in addition to thoughts on the Buffalo Bills 2023 draft and offseason.

Last time the guys the guys got together two weeks ago they highlighted five things that went right for the Sabres. This time it's the other end, discussing five things that went wrong that prevented them from getting the additional two points they ultimately needed to end their 12-year postseason drought.

Plus the NFL draft is in the books and the guys have thoughts on both the Bills and Detroit Lions (Joe's favorite team) respective drafts as well as Buffalo's offseason in totality. That and much more today.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, the Buffalo Bills traded up to select tight end Dalton Kincaid with their first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and Patrick Moran has plenty of thoughts about it.

While thinking it could be a nice luxury, tight end wasn't a position most Bills fans and media had on their radar when it came to the Buffalo's first pick. But after after four straight receivers went off the board in the early 20s, Bills GM Brandon Beane sprung in action by trading up two spots with Jacksonville for Kincaid,

Patrick provides his takes on what he thinks of the pick, the frustration that accumulated as the draft went on leading to the Bills trade, his favorite first-round picks from around the league, if there's still a chance Buffalo trades for DeAndre Hopkins and plenty more.

The NFL Draft is (finally) here and on this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran provides his final thoughts, projections and a prediction on what the Buffalo Bills should and ultimately will do one night one of the draft.

Before offering positions, Patrick has thoughts on what the biggest draft needs are, seven scenarios he thinks could play out over the next three days, the most realistic "wish list" he could come up with and power ranking who ultimately thinks the Bills first pick will be.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) for their final Buffalo Bills seven-round mock draft, the last of six in a weekly series leading up to the real thing beginning April 27th. Everything is on the table for this final mock, including trade offers to move up and down.

After deliberating a handful of potential trade move ups and what the cost would be, the guys end up staying put with all their picks and get a little lucky, at least they think as a talented offensive tackle and wide receiver fall to them with their first two picks. It's an offensive heavy final mock in fact, as three of the first four and four of six overall picks land on the offense.

The guys also have some thoughts on the New York Jets finally trading for Aaron Rodgers and what it means for the AFC East, some big-named veterans that could be traded during the draft, the pre-draft process feeling like an eternity and much more.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) for the fifth of six weekly Buffalo Bills seven-round mock drafts leading up to the real thing beginning April 27th. Trades are on the table and several get discussed, but ultimately the guys stick with the six picks Buffalo comes into the draft having.

Running back Bijan Robinson and wide receiver Jordan Addison are discussed as two trade up candidates at some point but Aaron deems the price too high. They end up taking a guy in the first-round for the second consecutive week and then follow up with a shifty slot receiver in round two. In fact, the Bills first four picks and five of six overall end up being on the offensive side of the football.

Following the draft the guys run down the biggest winners and losers from the current Bills roster, if this mock were to become a reality when the real thing goes down soon.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) for the fourth of six weekly Buffalo Bills seven-round mock drafts leading up to the real thing beginning April 27th. Unlike the first three mocks, there's actually trades today. In fact, there's multiple trades that not involves picks but a veteran player.

In this mock the Bills explore moving up options before deciding against it. When going on the clock at 27, the Indianapolis Colts come with an offer appealing enough for Buffalo to move down eight spots before making their first selection. From there the Bills are offered and accept a trade from a conference rival that essentially nets them a solid veteran receiver in exchange for a fourth-round pick.

The Bills only end up making four picks with this draft, three who'll actually be expected to contribute in 2023--but there's far more to this story than just that.
