Roye and Miguel discuss the benefits of Jiu Jitsu and mental health. While it is not therapy, in many ways it can be therapeutic. Jiu Jitsu is great way to clear the mind and focus on the direct task at hand. While fighting out of terrible positions we can learn to overcome uncomfortable positions on and off the mat. There is also a tremendous amount of comfort in finding a group of people that share the same form of stress relief as you, and often times similar personality traits. It's important to know that we are not alone in this world and there is always someone who understands us, sometimes right there on the mats with us.
This week we welcome our very first guest as Katie Hooven joins us in studio ( my small office). Katie is a Brown Belt under Garry Tonon and has traveled the country training with some of the best in the world and giving seminars. We get to step away from Jiu Jitsu for a while and get to know more about her as a person and truly appreciate another Jiu Jitsu journey. Truly a great person and someone we are proud to call a friend, so sit back and enjoy the episode
